unresponsive leasing office, ant infestations, and horrible neighbors
August 12, 2023The nightmare began weeks before we moved in. We toured and applied - the leasing office would only respond to my husband, despite my name being the first listed on every single document. Emails went unanswered until my husband emailed and suddenly they'd respond, as if it were a first-touch response. The not so subtle sexism became glaringly apparent QUICKLY. We only lived here for a year due to the complete lack of responsiveness from the leasing office. Noise complaints and maintenance ...requests went unanswered and we were told multiple issues (noisy, destructive neighbors, ant infestations) were not their problem, despite liability being on the lease documents. I'd call almost nightly about our horrible neighbors shaking the entire unit, so much so, photos were falling off the walls and cracks were appearing near the window frames. An ant infestation ruined our kitchen for months. I had to report the ants 4 times with no response and immediate closure of maintenance tickets before I called Orkin myself to get it handled. Absolutely embarrassed to say we tolerated this place for a year.Property Manager Responded

poor management, worse upstairs neighbor
June 12, 2023Pros: great environment, tons of fresh grass for my dog to play on. If you rent the loft, you get a lot of natural sunlight. If you don’t like sunlight hitting directly, downstairs are a great choice. Nice neighbors, a lot of them have dogs too so you can actually meet friends there. Kids are roaming free in the complex, I personally like it a lot since it’s an indication that the apartment complex is very family friendly and safe. I never heard any noises from my next door neighbors (except ...upstairs). No TV sound, no talking sound. I think sound proof is very good, but I only had neighbor on one side, the other side is vacant as far as I know. Cons: after you started renting, you no longer get good management. Their laundry room smell like urine all the time and only half of the machines working. The water foundation was off majority of the year so you don’t really get to see a beautiful fountain. (When it was on it had families of ducks swimming in it) but when it’s on, it had this eerie loud sound going on 24/7… My right hand side next door is vacant but I hear scratches sometimes on the other side of the wall. I reported that to management but they never have people check it out. I am afraid it’s animal or some sort and afraid they will scratch through the wall to my apartment. Why I think they never sent people to check is that there are tons of spider webs on the doorknob and it’s never touched. Also, one of the neighbor took my package… Personal problems: I don’t like weed smell and my upstairs neighbor smoke weed all the time. If you don’t mind weed smell then you can disregard this. But, they also like to vacuumed and smoke weed and pull table and chairs around throughout the night. Too loud and smoky that I can’t sleep well at night. There was that one time they vacuumed at 2am in the morning. I told management a few times about the weed smell problem but never gotten better. We rented this place during covid with a 1 month free special, thought we got a deal but they raise $150+ to our rent after our contract, but I think almost all complex do that so it’s not a surprise actually. Overall, it’s a nice environment, we just got bad luck having such a bad upstairs neighbor.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
ALOT OF HELP FROM STEPHEN GREAT SERVICE
May 17, 2019A lot of help professionalism was given when I wanted apartment definitely was helped !! Highly recommend him to anyoneReview from Apartments.com
Not the best management
March 29, 2019From the beginning, there were some serious communication issues. I was moving from out of state and had spoken to the office ahead of time about coming in after hours as I was coming directly from SFO airport during traffic. When I arrived in CA, I called the office again to let them know a better ETA and apologized again that it was going to be an after-hours check-in for the first time into my unit. Stephen sounded extremely frustrated and let me know that he had to leave. This was different ...than what we had spoken about earlier during the week and months leading up to my move. When I first got to my apartment, I walked into a unit that was far from what I had asked for and what was described. And since this was over the weekend, I had moved myself in before actually being able to talk to the leasing office about the situation. When I went into the office on Tuesday because Stephen had called and said he was out sick on Monday and we couldn't sign the lease, that is when I found out that there WAS indeed a loft available. Which, resulted in me moving twice and Stephen stating multiple times that I had to write a positive review for him because they were "helping me out." I have to give it to Alyc, he actually did help me move my bed and shelf into the top level loft. However, I was quite appalled that Stephen even asked for a positive review after complaining the entire time, and then had the audacity to tell me he had already submitted his paperwork based off of the studio rental for commission and not the loft rental, which would have gotten him more dollars. During the year, there has been a variety of issues. For one, my assigned parking space has had other people using it and it's happened more than twice now that I do not have parking and I have to park elsewhere. They also don't actually do anything about this situation. Per management policies, the property is not allowed to tow cars unless there has been sufficient notices made before towing anything. This issue has been extremely frustrating as a tenant. The biggest issue though, has been safety. There's been multiple break-ins at this property. I know at least of two now in my short one year here. One incident involved multiple car break-ins, and most recently a couple of months ago, a new tenant had a break-in into his/her apartment. I came home to find the San Leandro Police Department onsite investigating and taking a report.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Very helpful and great property!
August 22, 2017Thank you Alyc and Anthony for the great service I received. Thank you for taking the time you took to make sure my move to California was seamless. I must admit that I was worried since I had not viewed my apartment (other than the pics you emailed) turns out I had nothing to worry about. My place is super cute with all the new upgrades and you were right about the loft, I love the open floorpan. Cannot say enough about being so close to Bart!! Thanks again for all of your help!Review from Apartments.com
Mold
June 10, 2016Mold found in bathroom. Bathroom flooded a few months back. The maintenance man cleaned the water and painted over it. Recently my eight month old baby boy starting having a severe cough and is going to Kaiser for it. My wife's thought has been giving her trouble for weeks now. Our bathroom flooded again and I found this mold under the sink and the wood was finally replaces because I insisted that it happened. But the most troubling thing we called and called to speak to someone and no one ...returned our call my wife then came in and was told Alec can make the decision. I go in after to speak with Alec and he tells me there is nothing he can do and even though we are leaving they won't even cancel our termination of the lease. He doesn't even apologize. My family got health issues because of this and the management is not even concern or apologetic. Before you move consider the information I shared and the understanding that if your looking for professional leadership you might wanna look somewhere else.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
