Hearing everything in the house

Love it!
August 22, 2021I absolutely love Sparrows Point! I moved in last October to a 1bed/1bath renovated apartment. Before I moved in any of my personal things I sprayed the perimeter of the whole apartment including outside. I have had maybe 2 bugs in my apartment the entire time living here and they were dead already. A few months ago, I had a leak in my kitchen and the wall was starting to look really nasty. I contacted maintenance and they came in the next day to look at it. It took maybe two weeks to get it ...fully back to normal as expected since they had to paint the wall over again. I was very happy with how quickly they came out and fixed the problem. Overall, I love living here and it is a very nice community. My only complaints are the laundry rooms are really dirty and could be wiped down more often. And when it rains the sewers get filled quickly with leaves, debris, etc so the water does not go down as it should. These are both manageable and I would still rate Sparrows Point 10/10.Property Manager Responded

Horrible experience
March 5, 2019My lease is coming to an end so I figured I would leave an HONEST review of my experience here at Sparrows Point. I moved in May of last year. The first day - move in day, my air conditioner was broken. It was 84 degrees in my apartment. The rental office offered me a in-window unit but maintenance told me they didn’t have those on property. After having the maintenance men lie to the property manager about coming to apartment and fixing the air conditioning, it was fixed.... 10 days later. Also, ...on the day of moving there was a leak under my bathroom sink. It ruined my brand new bathroom rugs that I had just put down. When maintenance arrived he blamed me for the big of a mess because I didn’t go under the sink and turn the water off. I knew on my first day that this wouldn’t be a good experience and if I could’ve gotten out of my lease then, I would’ve. So much has happened since then, I promise it’s been a situation like every month. In September, the hot water in my shower stopped working. Maintenance came out and left a note saying more work needed to bring e done at a later date to be determined by the rental office. Months went by before anything was done and it was only done because I reached out again. When I did reach out, all maintenance did was copy and paste my description of the work order in their notes and mark the work order completed. No one came out, no one fixed anything. I was literally having to fill up bowls of hot water in the kitchen and pour it in my bath tub in order to take a bath. Again, I had to reach out to the property manager to get things done. I won’t sit here and go through every problem I had while here but I will point out the important ones. I will also say that there was times where maintenance responded in a timely manner and got things done. I will also say that the CARES TEAM on this property is AMAZING!! They were literally the only ones that offered me a gift when I first moved in for all the trouble I had went through. All I ever got from the property was an apology. I read the other reviews before posting mine. And it’s true, they do have dog poop bags but I’m not sure that they are used. There is poop EVERYWHERE!! I have complained about it before and a memo was sent out but no one ever cleaned the poop up and the problem hasn’t changed. I love it
February 17, 2019My family and I love living here. I wouldn't take some of the other reviews to heart. They renovated every apartment and townhome in the neighborhood. We fell safe here as they have brought security in while dealing with the outsider issues. We have no bugs and I haven't heard or seen anyone complaining that they have any either. The staff is willing to work with you and do everything that can to help. What's not to love?
February 16, 2019I live here with my husband, dog, and daughter. The staff is very professional and friendly. We've really enjoyed meeting all our amazing neighbors. I love that they have a dog park for my furry friend to run and play. They also have a park and splash pad for my daughter to play around at. Sparrows Point also has two lovely people who take the time to run super fun family activities for everyone to enjoy. I couldn't ask for a better place to raise my daughter.Property Manager Responded

I love it here!
February 16, 2019We just renewed our lease for a 2nd year here. My husband and I are incredibly happy and so are our two boys. The office manager, office staff, maintenance and Cares Team are incredible. We moved here from 800 miles away and they were more than willing to work with us every step of the way. Of course things break, but such is life. The best part about it here is that they come out and fix it in an incredibly timely manner. I enjoy the relationships built between the staff and tennant's. I ...always am made to feel welcome when I need to ask a question in the office and maintenance is incredibly friendly. Another great thing about this place is they are incredibly pet friendly, they provide the poop baggies and barrels which is incredibly convenient while walking our dogs. We feel very much at home at Sparrows point. Our boys get excited to see maintenance driving around constantly and they absolutely love going into visit the ladies in the office. Sparrows point also has a cares team on site. They are the most loving and genuine couple I have ever met. My boys meet them with hugs everytime they see them. They even went as far as to provide my family with a delicious home cooked meal after I had a major surgery. We could not be happier here and we could not feel more at home. Great Start!
February 16, 2019Like any other place, nothing is perfect. I do have to recognize the hard work the staff did on letting me sign a lease in such a short period of time. I drove the same day, back and forth from New Jersey just to see this complex. It was raining that day and everything seemed quite opposed for me and my family to move in. Fortunately for us, this passed. Great staff, quick response from maintenance, nice and quite place and great neighbors, so far. One of the great things Sparrows Point has is ...the activities done for families by two amazing people that work really hard to make the community have a great time after having a long day at work. I love the inclusion that they have for our furry babies and the fact that there’s pet waste bags on every corner for us to use, this way we can go on good walks without worrying if we’re out of bags. Very close to the mall and different places to eat and/or shop. It’s a great start!Property Manager Responded

If you value your money and life, don’t move here
February 9, 2019DO NOT MOVE HERE. This is by far the worst apartment complex i have ever lived. The horror started literally the day I moved in. When I got to my apartment, everything was broken. The back and front door was cracked which caused all the outside vermin and weather to come in, there was a hole in my cabinets, the towel rack in the bathroom was broken, whatever idiot painted the bathroom got it all over the mirror and it won’t come off. I report all of this on my move in check list and put in ...maintenance tickets and guess what got fixed? The towel rack. That’s it. Still to this day over 8 months later none of it has been addressed. Second, the sidewalks for true apartment building facing the road flood like crazy when it rains. To the point where you can’t even walk through without getting mud and rain ALL over yourself and it stays like that for days at a time. Third, it’s not at all safe here. Kids from the complex next door come (WHO DONT EVEN LIVE IN SPARROWS POINT) come and smoke pot in the buildings. It got so bad my clothes and apartment reeked of pot. The complex’s solution? “ oh we put up cameras” the cameras don’t even face any of the buildings, just the playground where there was just recently a shooting. Yep if you have kids and value their life don’t move here. They’ll get shot at the playground. There’s no security and no maintenance. There’s always trash allllll over the ground and it’s disgusting. Just today i went to do laundry and got trapped in the laundry room because the door handle is broken and no one has fixed it. I had to use a pen to jimmy my way in and out. Oh and the laundry room? Disgusting. All the time. This complex is literally the apartment complex from hell. I’m counting down the days until I can get the hell out of here.Property Manager Responded

Pest Problem
November 9, 2018There are so many cockroaches. They say the have exterminator that come every Tuesday. Rest assured that does absolutely nothing. I see them the next day even if exterminators do come. During the summer, my ac broke and my apartment got to 90 degrees. I don’t think that’s very safe. It’s just an old apartment complex. And I am willing to pay a few hundred to get a nicer place. The only pro is that the maintenance folks are actually very fast!Property Manager Responded

Terrible flooding
September 8, 2017This used to be Waypoint at Lynnhaven. I was evicted due to excessive flooding... and the flood waters that came in were toxic. DO NOT RENT A FIRST FLOOR APARTMENT. I lost everything in that flood. Also bugs are awful, lots of roaches and ants.Review from Apartments.com
