June 26, 2024Listen…. I moved to this building in 2021, I’ve regretted ever since. So many major issues that this building needs to be closed. The building is not up to code, there is a bad rodent and water bug infestation and it hasn’t been resolved yet. The property manager Angela doesn’t care about the people in the building just her pockets, you can always pay your rent on time “Always” the one time your late she gives you a extremely hard time and threatens to start eviction process after a day late. ...She picks and choose who she wants to assist and most times it’s by the color of your skin. The assistant property manager Samantha is so nice and understanding. We’ve lost 7 tenants in 30 days (horrible turnover) Save yourselves from frustration and late night creepy crawlers. The maintenance men are awesome.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Definitely lots of pros, but be aware of the cons
January 2, 2021I lived in one of the Springfield Valley apartments for 3 years. I was in one of the 2-bedrooms with a roommate. Pros: Nicely renovated apartment & building. Built-in microwave. Dishwasher & garbage disposal. Storage space in the hallway of each floor. Recently-updated laundry units on the 2nd & 3rd floor (larger, better working machines and ability to pay using an app on your phone). Dog & cat friendly. On-site doggie bag dispenser with trash can. Parking lot. Landscaping is ...well-maintained. Decent prices for 2-bed/2-full-bath. Great location - nice neighborhood and super close to businesses on Baltimore Pike. Received our full security deposit back when we moved out. Cons: Prices raised every year. Dumpsters in parking lot were almost always full and trash would end up on the ground. Not very sound-proof building (we had issues with the noise from our upstairs neighbor). Maintenance requests sometimes took a while to finally be taken care of, and were often not completed correctly. (2 examples: We had a water leak inside our cabinets that took weeks to finally be repaired, and the water damage was never addressed. We found mold inside the cabinets when we moved out 3 years later. An alarm going off 24/7 in the hallway utility room was not addressed for several days until we finally contacted the local fire department.) Management office is not good at communication. (Messages would sometimes not be responded to and questions left unanswered. Updates on maintenance work being done to the building would only be provided when requested.) Some management office staff were not friendly and sometimes outright inconsiderate. We received our security deposit back as one check made out to us both, which was a problem since we don’t have a joint bank account (again, we were roommates, not a couple). Initially they refused to re-issue a new check to just one of us and only did so after we continuously pushed back and contacted the corporate office. Considering that we were good tenants who took good care of the apartment and paid our rent on time every month, it was a disappointing way to leave.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
