Don't Rent from them
September 16, 2022Terrible company. Non-stop ringing noise inside apartment and outside aparrmenr all night long. Brown recluses. Ants. Etc. Homeless people constantly in dumpster. Rude customer service. Washer and dryer tear up your clothes. They won't fix anything and they blame the tenants for everything and take no responsibility. This is raw truth. Don't rent from them.Review from Apartments.com
Meh...
August 3, 2020We spent 6 months here and were so glad to finally move. Our front door never closed right. Had a big gap on top where spiders were coming in. Management sprayed a few times and made inadequate attempts to fix the door (and I say "fix it" in a small sense of the word). It needed to be taken off, the framing corrected, and put back on. Never happened. We literally had to slam it shut every time we opened the door. I'm sure the neighbors loved that! The sliding door to balcony was horribly ...difficult to close and lock. Upon moving in, the apartment didn't look as if it had been cleaned very well. Floors were dirty behind doors. I had to clean out kitchen cabinets and one kitchen drawer still had old tenant's belongings in it. Also, the cabinets were horribly hard to open. They had sticky things on the corners and no matter how much I cleaned them, they still stuck. Under the sink, the contact paper that had been placed there was absolutely black. I had to clean that as well. The refrigerator didn't work well. They put in another and for a week or so they couldn't get the ice maker to work. Finally got it fixed. Dishwasher did not clean the dishes well. We reported it and they supposedly fixed it, but it never got the dishes clean so we quit using it. We had neighbors above us and we heard EVERY SINGLE STEP they made in their apartment. One of them worked until 1am so we were woken up every night when he came home and every time they got up to pee and when the woman got up early every morning. And lastly... every time we used the oven, my husband would have to stand by the smoke detectors and fan them so I could take things out of the oven. We frequently heard smoke alarms going off so we assumed they were all very sensitive. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone I know.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Highly recommend!
January 13, 2020I highly recommend living at Sunset Woodland apartments. The staff are incredibly kind, care about keeping the complex updated & fixing any problems as soon as possible. We lived here for 3 years & we could not have asked for anything more. Thank you, Sunset Woodland (especially Angel)!!Review from Apartments.com
Don't bother if you want Internet
September 12, 2018As a college student I frequently rely on having access to the Internet to complete coursework, communicate with professors and peers, and research new and innovative technologies and ideas. Unfortunately at Sunset Woodland you are not afforded that opportunity. In just my first 2 months of saying here we have been without Internet multiple nights and weekends. On the days that we do have Internet it is frequently slower than 1Mbps. That is not enough to do homework, communicate effectively, and ...or relax after several hours of studying. I would strongly not recommend the Sunset Woodland Apartments if you like myself need to have an Internet connection for anything more than email. Also their management style is to contract all services out which means you have to track down 3rd parties to try and fix problems that the Sunset Woodland Management will not acknowledge or help you with such as Internet and cable TV.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Living here six months...
January 17, 2017and thus far, this has been my experience in Sunset apartments: Pro’s: The neighborhood is quiet, with very limited traffic. It is pretty central to everything, with a couple gas stations nearby and both King Cash Saver and Hyvee just a minute away. The rent is decent, especially since it includes a pool, gym, wifi, and cable. The utility bill is split among all the residents which includes water, sewer and trash services and it has been incredible cheap. The cable or wifi has never been out on ...my apartment – I am able to game, surf the internet, stream pay-per-view and watch Netflix without lag. It’s been really flawless for me. All my neighbors are very nice and have been quiet for the most part. Con’s: NEVER EVER choose to rent Sunset C102! Management needs to make the few minor repairs to it to make it in perfect condition and use it as their model unit. Below this unit is the maintenance closet; I have been awoken early by the sound of saws, people moving things, talking… you name it, I can hear everything that goes on in that closet. It has been a struggle for me, due to my work and school, I have an inconsistent sleeping schedule… I could not imagine a family trying to live here with that noise. It definitely makes you feel like you loose a sense of privacy because if you can hear them burping… they can hear you (fill in the blank). And with every new management (see next point) comes new maintenance that I must tell that I can hear them. As long as you don’t rent C102, you’re peachy! Over the six months I have been here, there have been 3 different management companies. The cabinet space in the kitchen is SO limited. I struggled finding space for everything. I rented here thinking that we had security patrolling on property, but since a specific management company came in, there is no security service here. The property in general is a bit run down. You can tell it’s older by the outside appearance—the decks are chipping from the red painting, the sign is older looking. The inside tells a bit better story, but still a bit older feel due to minor things failed to be replaced (rust in the back of my freezer "fixed" via spray paint by maintenance when I moved in, a chip in the wood towel rack in the bathroom, a hole in the bedroom door one patched by something, etc...)Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
