READ BEFORE RENTING!!
December 20, 2024If I could give 0 stars, I would…. After being a respectful tenant for 16 years and consistently paying rent on time, I was appalled by how Mary handled the return of my security deposit. They withheld half of my deposit for reasons that are beyond unreasonable. First, they charged for carpet cleaning on carpets that hadn’t been replaced in over two decades—well beyond their lifespan. With a cleaning crew once, sometimes every other week, even that was not enough to properly treat old carpet ...that needed to be changed. We were one of the few remaining out dated units in the complex, and the hard wood flooring they installed in all the new units were inevitable. While we kindly requested updates to our unit for many years, we were hardly granted any asks. They also claimed the bathroom was dirty, yet it hadn’t seen any updates or improvements in over 20 years. Again, an extremely outdated bathroom that was going to be FULLY remodeled like the rest of the units when we vacated. These charges felt extremely exaggerated, especially from a long-term renter who treated their property with care. In 16 years, we received 1 wall painted, and an updated countertop in our kitchen and Appliances. SAME FLOOR, SAME CABINETS. On top of that, the landlord was rude and unprofessional during the process, showing a complete lack of appreciation for me. When I mentioned this to her, she stated “we gave you a new kitchen because you kept begging”. I pleaded for compromise with an understanding that some of cleaning fees were assessed fairly. In the end, she had the AUDACITY to say that after speaking about all of this, she had wished she took more out. It’s clear that they care more about themselves than maintaining a fair and respectful relationship. If you’re considering renting from them, I suggest you look elsewhere. Especially if you value fairness, professionalism, and integrity.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Cheap and it shows
November 5, 2021Some of the worst custom service from the superintend, never answers the first call & is very rude when he does pick up. The maintenance, and Relator office is helpful. The train is unbelievably loud. There is no laundry in unit. All outside space is shared but not updated. The shared grills in the park are unusable. Kitchens are small, closed off and don’t have enough storage or counter space.Review from Apartments.com
Looks nice but...
August 9, 2021The first things you need to be aware of before deciding to move in is the ridiculous amount of noise pollution. They will intentionally take you on the apartment tour when the trains won’t come, they will also avoid bringing up this topic because of potential turn off. This is the equivalent to living in an airport terminal due to the trains blasting their horn every hour or so while passing by. There also seems to be some absurd landscaping contract where they need to mow the lawn every 2 days ...at random times with no warnings, so say goodbye to potential sleep or work assuming you work at home. The walls are also paper thin from neighbor to neighbor and even worse from room to room assuming you’re moving in with someone, definitely move in upstairs if you don’t want to hear banging footsteps every minute (not to the fault of the neighbor). The neighbor’s you get will also be a toss up because they won’t tell you a thing about them before moving in. Apparently fire alarms (these are louder than air sirens) going off in the complexes by mistake is quite common, I’ve seen people running outside in hordes covering their ears with fire trucks coming because of this. Something they also don’t tell you is that optimum has a complete monopoly of this complex, that means optimum can hike the prices for their internet plan as much as they want because you don’t have a choice, quality assurance is also out the window. Ive been told that the 400s have this problem but as a ritual the power goes out every month or so (sometimes there’s a grace period of a couple months) due to the generator being on soft grass that’s volatile to rain. There also seems to have been a disgusting leakage problem from the apartment above as there were streaks of excrement running down the walls and have now dried out like candles on the wall. If you plan on moving in here, make sure you avoid the 400+, live upstairs, pick the building furthest from the train tracks, verify the cleanliness of the building before moving in (made this mistake), and make sure to buy ear plugs for the lawn mowers as they can take up to hours to finish (headphones don’t do the trick).Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Not great.
December 5, 2017The area is nice, and the people that live in my section are all very pleasant. The problem is with the apartments themselves. I have lived here for 13 years and everything is going downhill, significantly. First problem is the train. Beware anyone that goes to look at an apartment the woman Mary will only bring you on times the train isn't coming through. It is very, VERY loud. It is a freight train and it goes by all hours of the day and night. The 400's section is the worst in terms of ...volume. I've gotten used to it that but it also causes problems with the structure, cracked walls and misaligned windows to name a few. Now there is the landscapers who they have come in the early morning between 7 and 9 and they are there all day. They blow debris into the windows and if you have a night job like I do, you can not sleep windows open or closed. Obviously, it wouldn't be as bad in an upstairs apartment but I don't. Also, they used to have the super clean the snow and ice on the walkways and a plow would come through for the driveway but not anymore. Now it's the landscapers again and they snow blow the paths and throw salt down after the storm is over. They salt once maybe twice a day and all the melt water refreezes and walking on the sidewalks is hazardous. If you are elderly do not move here! I have had bad leaks since I moved in and one of them I was told to wait through the weekend while the leak soaked the rug and wall cause they did not want to pay a plumber weekend rates. That's what i was told - not speculation. Also, the inside are in need of renovation. Cabinets and flooring/carpets, etc. All the apartments of people moving out are being redone but the people who have lived here for years get nothing except rental increase. I have been looking for a new apartment for quite a while but the devil you know, right?Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
I like my apartment so much right now and feel so comfortable here.
September 17, 2015This is my first apartment after living in a house all my life. I feel safe and sound here. The people living around me are all very nice. The grounds are kept up. There are flowering trees in the spring and pretty flowers to look at in the gardens all summer.Review from Apartments.com
