  • Just say no, and find a better place to live!

    November 1, 2019
Building management is terrible; shady business practices such as adding additional months to your lease. Maintenance is slow to resolve any issues. If you enjoy 100 degree temperatures in the summer & calling the police every weekend, then this is your place! Management only cares about their rent checks, that's the only 'managing' they do.
    • Property Manager Responded

      March 31, 2020
Hello! I am so sorry to hear about your poor experience at the Button Lofts. I can assure you that since we have taken over management in late 2019 we have tried to make this a happy and safe community. If you are still a resident, please reach out to myself so I can ensure there are no ongoing issues and if you do have maintenance concerns I can ensure they get addressed immediately. Thank you for your feedback.

Poorly maintained and very little security. I would suggest going elsewhere.

Hello. I am sorry to hear that you felt the property was not maintained. We have staff on site daily to ensure that the facility is clean and properly taken care of. If we are overlooking something please reach out via email so we can ensure it gets addressed. Thank you.

  • Terrible

    October 7, 2019
If you are considering living here, look else where. At first glance the apartment looks great, but everything that comes along with it is unbearable. From day one it was a disaster, with a broken washer/dryer that clearly had not been looked at since the previous tenant moved out, as there was moldy water located in the machine. We also had rodents get into our unit which we had to deal with ourselves. Maintenance requests take forever to get done, or are just ignored. On top of that, the ...
walls and floors are very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. I would recommend to anyone to look elsewhere, your experience will not be any different.
    • Property Manager Responded

      March 31, 2020
Hello, I am the new property manager and I am so sorry to hear about your terrible experience. I do hope that our current tenants do not have the same concerns and that if there are concerns we are contacted so we can address in a timely manner. Our team works diligently to make sure that the apartments are as close to 100% upon move in so that tenants start their experience with us on the best note possible. Thank you for the feedback, I will make sure our team is aware of these issues.

  • My Personal Opinion

    May 13, 2019
I have lived in The Button Lofts for 2 years now. After reading all of the reviews, I decided to write my opinion. Management is EXCELLENT. The Property Manager and Senior Leasing Consultant have been here for a little over a year now and have turned this building into a nice clean place. The apartment lofts are amazing, even though we can hear who is in the hallways and some of what goes on in your neighbors apartments. Most of us here are working professionals and during the day when I work ...
from home I barely hear a peep. At night, I have had no issue finding parking in the lot and still, do not hear much from my neighbors. I give The Button Lofts 5 stars because it is not just my apartment. It is my home that I take pride in as well as the maintenance and office staff do. The other residents are not as respectful as I am and do give the management a run for their money, but all together I love the building and staff and 100% recommend these awesome units to anyone looking for a loft style apartment.

  • Terrible place.

    May 11, 2019
If you’re considering moving here, simply don’t. Like everyone says, management couldn’t be worse. As a younger college student, I was never listened to about issues we had. I don’t care how old someone is if you’re paying that much to live somewhere people should answer the phone and talk to you with respect and the tenant should be listened to. From the day we moved in the water dispenser didn’t work. It takes a whole day to do a load of laundry. If it rains or snows heavy you’ll get leaks all ...
over the apartment. Oh! And all your packages will be stolen! I’ve had this happen to three packages living there. When asking to check the cameras, they don’t even have access to the footage. What’s the point of cameras then? When told they would get back to me about that they never did. A neighbor of mine also has a tiny whole in their unit where rodents like to crawl through. Nice and sanitary or a high end apartment. The style of them is modern but it is so not worth it. There are way nicer lofts in the Rochester area that would save yourself a year long headache.

Thank you for the honest feedback. I understand all of your concerns and since this post the management of the facility has changed and if you are still a resident I would be happy to speak with you and see what we can do to address some of your other concerns. Do not hesitate to call or email myself. Thank you!

    December 2, 2018
Good luck getting any help with anything from the management. Including but not limited to: answering email, answering the office phone, checking the office voicemail, letting you into the office during open hours, being in the office during open hours, correctly filing paperwork on your lease, and correctly dating lease documents.

Great location. However, if you’re looking for working heat, ac, and other necessities, the management will leave you incredibly disappointed.

  • Incredible Building. TERRIBLE Management

    September 21, 2017
I’ve lived in cities across the country and dealt with a range of different property management companies; and, I’ve got to say that the mgmt.. at the Button Lofts are by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. They are extremely unresponsive when faced with maintenance issues! It’s very challenging to even get them on the phone but if you’re lucky enough to do so, they more often than not feign ignorance when questioned about the issue and their responsiveness. They really don’t seem to care about ...
the building itself (I’ve seen multiple disconnection notices from the power company on the building’s main door) nor the tenants. It’s really a shame too because the building itself is quite wonderful and the neighborhood is amazing but when you’re charging a premium – which this place is! – you should, at minimum, respond to issues in a timely and professional manner. If you’re looking for a place to move – my advice – look elsewhere! You’ll be fine here AS LONG AS nothing ever goes wrong. If it does, prepare yourself for a long drawn-out fight with an uninterested and unresponsive management.

  • Incredibly Bad Management and Cheap floors

    July 21, 2017
The day I moved in here, RGE was putting up a notice, that the owner of the building, owed $2,000 and the power to the main areas would soon be shut off. The intercom is terrible: it's a directory listing by your last name, which then is meant to dial your cellphone, and then using your cellphone, you decide whether or not to grant access. Needlessly complicated. AND to top it off, it was MONTHS (6), before they updated the directory listing, to add my name. The parking is permit only, and the ...
enforcement only ever happens weekdays, at noon, when the parking lot is vacant. It doesn't help at night and on the weekends, when people illegally park there. The flooring in the unit is THE CHEAPEST I'VE EVER SEEN. It's fake, cheap, laminate wood, and one drop of water, and the thing starts to wear down into a rough patch. It's in the kitchen, so you will get water on it, and no matter how quickly your wipe it off, the floor is ruined. If you live on the first floor, you'll face the adjacent car mechanic shop, which is separated by a narrow alley, where random people PEE IN FRONT OF YOUR WINDOWS. Day. Night. Doesn't matter. There is central air, but it's loud and it's crummy. Just like the in-unit all-in-one high efficiency washer/dryer (garbage). Takes an entire day to wash and dry a load of laundry. The A/C unit started freezing & leaking, in the small utility closet, and the water has started draining under the floor, and warping the floorboards. I called maintenance explaining the situation and they sent someone. All they did was look at the area. They said to keep running the A/C (stupid) and that they would be back the next day. They never showed. Then, to add insult to injury, I get an automated email saying my service request was completed. Only after I raged back with a reply, was I told that it was marked as completed, because I would get a call from a proper A/C maintenance company. Which, surprise, never happened. Finally, let me finish by saying there's a room for garbage with 3 bins, meant to service the entire building. UTTERLY inadequate. Always full, and no one, NO ONE, ever takes it out, until the garbage overflows and starts to stink up the common hallway. The tour they give you when they show the units hides ALL OF THIS. Don't fall for it. This place is not worth the money....unless you like *bleeping* strangers pissing on your windows, which barely open, and let flies in.

  • Great Units, Terrible Management

    June 15, 2017
I have lived in many apartment buildings all over the east coast and I can objectively say that the Button Lofts is the most poorly managed building in Rochester, if not on the East Coast. A couple years ago, there was a great maintenance guy who made sure everything was in order, but he left for greener pastures and since then, the management has been horrific. The property manager has changed over 3 times in the past year and nothing ever gets done. If you have a problem, don't count on ...
anyone to fix it. If they owe you money, don't expect to receive it. The building looks great on the outside and the units are spacious and modern, but the management is abysmal. I would highly recommend against living here.
