Small apartments
March 22, 2023The apartments are very small and over priced. Only three closets in the three bedroom apartment. The small bedroom doesn’t even have a closet. Terrible lighting throughout. Very loud with the windows/balcony door open from the vents across the street. No screens on balcony door. Mosquitoes were an issue. Mold buildup in the bathrooms after a few months living there. Building refuses to replace A/C-Heaters. They break and they get them serviced or replace from a different apartment. Old ...appliances and need to be updated. Building staff are wonderful unfortunately they have high turnover. Building management can’t be found and don’t respond to emails.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Don't Let the Exterior Fool You
September 26, 2015The Cole has been undergoing a host of renovations within the past year, as well as a rebranding (formerly named "The Electra"), yet despite its posh appearance, I've been thoroughly underwhelmed by my experience in the building. I will begin by stating that the renovated units are nice. Decently-sized, barnwood-style floors, new appliances, and good kitchen space (although the lack of closet space is highly disappointing). The positives end there. Construction workers are outside making ...racket at all hours of the day; they do work on the side of the building which, for whatever reason, requires access to the units' balconies (they are there on a daily basis, looking in your windows, with no forewarning by management). Outside of the apartment, none of the common areas are air-conditioned, which makes for an uncomfortable experience. Speaking of air-conditioning, you cannot even set the temperature in your apartment; you are only in control whether your AC/heat is off or on, meaning the apartment is always too hot or too cold. But if you're too cold, you can always warm up by running up the stairs. The 23-story building only has two elevators that are slow as molasses and never available. Climb the stairs at your own risk -- they are as crumbly and shaky as this building's reputation. Despite advertising 24-hour doormen, they are AWOL most of the time and don't check IDs at the door, enabling anyone willing to come in. Renter beware. I hope more people write reviews of this building. Despite their attempts to rebrand the image, The Cole is as overpriced and underwhelming as The Electra.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
