But to be honest it’s not a bad place to live, but definitely need some upgrades. The location makes up for some issues in the building. Oh and the pool area I think it’s nice makes me feel like I’m in a jungle lol

because they tried to raise our rent by $300, which was not worth it at all. This place is not rent controlled it seems like and on top of that they have different prices for all tenants. We know this because we have discussed this with lots of neighbors. And I quote," Every year you have to fight them on the price of rent because they try and increase it outstandingly every year", which is ridiculous. On top of that we lived here for about 8 months in and we saw everyone else with bamboo on their balconies. So we put bamboo on our balcony too and it looked really nice. We also had cats so we wanted protection for them as well. They immediately sent us an email notifying us to take it down showing us the lease agreement, but we were so confused why everyone else got to have theirs up. We walked through the whole area and saw about 5 people with bamboo up (they had it up for months mind you), about 2 people with plants hanging from the ceiling, 5 people with hammocks, and a person with a satellite dish on their balcony. Let me just say that the lease also says ," no free standing items, screens (nothing about bamboo which I considered a decoration not a screen), and flags on the balcony. We took ours off, then 2 days later they gave us a lease violation. Oh then they also put on there a violation of our hammock as well, when they never even told us about the hammock being a problem. We took everything down already feeling singled out, treated unfairly, and treated differently than other people living here. Everyone else still has their bamboo, flags, and hammocks up till this day! It's a horrible feeling. Then they have the audacity to try and raise the rent after we told them about our frustrating and uncomfortable situations we have experienced with them. They didn't care. I strongly feel that you can get more bang for your buck living somewhere else along with being treated better from my personal experience.

- we bought fans and it's ok. Laundry is downstairs and costs. We have a loft apartment and the layout is great. It's lacking a central light but we hung a lamp with the help of a 10' ladder. There is a garage and you get one spot per bedroom. We're a couple with two cars so parking was limited to one spot plus on street parking which is annoying but doable; after a couple of months we were able to rent a second parking spot in the garage. They allow pets which is nice. I read a lot of reviews prior to renting and my biggest worry was noisy parties and pet smell. The parties aren't an issue. There was a good size pool party on Memorial Day; management noticed and fixed it before the 4th of July. There are some parts around here (typically outside) that smell of animal urine but it's not that bad. For the most part people pick up after their pets and the place doesn't smell. I really like the apartments and will probably renew my lease if I don't buy a house. I'd recommend it, cost being the only real detractor. For perspective we're in our mid to late 30s and don't party much so quiet is better for us.

roller skate. People watching is so fun and either direction offers a pier for great food and entertainment. There's a CVS and a Domino's right up by PCH and three nearby grocery stores. Back at the apartment, every tenant has a balcony with French doors that welcome in the fresh ocean air. The unit has lots of natural light and feels warm. There is a community pool, hot tub, and sauna and they are cleaned regularly. There is also a nice gym on the premises. Pets are allowed, but smoking is not, and the green belt is right across the street for even more exercising/relaxation opportunities. Location is certainly the driving force for the Gallery Apartments and it provides great beach living at a more middle-class price tag. Highly recommended, even if pricing is high.
