    I have been living at The Gateway for a few months now and have nothing but good things to say. 1. Absolutely the best moving experience I've ever had. The Manager, Stephanie, helped us (a young couple moving in together for the first time, yikes!) every single step of the way. Gave us amazing information, pointed us to the best movers with the best deals, pointed us to free services where we could find the most affordable internet, cable, and electricity (green mountain is treating us well) ...
    for our needs, kept up with every email full of questions I sent (and trust me, I had a lot), answered everything with detail within hours of being sent, and offered us coffee and fresh baked cookies when she took us on tour of the complex. She gave us a folder full of complimentary coupons and vouchers for free drinks, food, and car and pet services upon signing our lease. It also included pamphlets on places to eat and things to do near us. No apartment I have ever lived in has done this. Overall, I have never been treated with more care and genuine kindness. She went above and beyond for us. (raise? hint hint) 2. Lets talk about the unit itself. It is absolutely beautiful! We have the smallest one bedroom they offer and it is the perfect size for my boyfriend and me. We live in a building facing the field which makes parking and having friends over so nice. 3. We love how pet friendly they are. Not only do they have designated potty areas with poop bags and trash cans, they have a dog park, AND a monthly prize giveaway for pets! I'd never heard of a bork box until we moved in here. Every month they you can submit a picture of your best friend (your precious pup) and they hold a random drawing and give away the box full of doggy toys and treats. 4. There are constant community events held in the front office and common areas, free samples, giveaways, and TACOS!!! They hire a nice lady who makes fresh tacos up front while they hold events and let me tell you, they are delicious. I grew up on those things, so trust me, I know a good taco. 5. Management shows a real presence here. Very involved. Probably about a month ago, I got locked out of my apartment and was panicking as my boyfriend wasn't supposed to be off of work for hours and I was immediately let into my home by the assistant (I can't remember his name, he's really nice). He dropped everything he was doing to let me in. That matters to me.

  • Look elsewhere

    I moved in during May of 2017. The beautiful floor plans and low rent made it impossible to say no. About two weeks in, my roommate and I both had a hard time sleeping due to paper thin walls. We could hear our neighbors fighting, their dog barked and cried all through the night, their music and tv playing from 11PM to 3 AM, the dog running back and forth between the bedrooms and living room and, on an especially amorous evening, the upstairs crew were stomping so much they knocked a large ...
    painting off of our living room wall. We called the office, the police (because the on-site security will NOT answer) and made 4 trips up to speak with the neighbors. Nothing happened and, understandably, the office staff don’t care because they’re just paper pushers who weren’t responsible for the poor design. Combine that with the rule of you better not come home after 8PM if you want a parking spot anywhere (sounds insane but I’m not kidding) and you have a disaster. My roommate came home around 10 PM one Saturday night, which arguably he knew better than to do, but had to park at my mom’s house in Garland and Ubered to the apartment to avoid getting towed for parking across the dog park, which is a different complex. He was towed and paid $400 for making that mistake once. Buuuuuut if you’re an insomniac who only owns a bicycle or works from home and can permanently stay in a parking spot...do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. There’s too many new apartments popping up for you to get straddled with the same crap that we’ve muscled through. Thank GOD our lease it up.

  • No sleep

    The apartment, the office, the grounds, the staff, and layout is top notch. However, if you can't get any sleep, what does that all matter? The walls are extremely too thin. I can hear when my neighbor wakes up and I know where they are in the apartment at all times. I was just woke up to another neighbor hammering something next door for 10 minutes. Ironically, I just left the doctor who prescribed me some Lunesta for sleep. I really thought I was going to get some sleep tonight but just another ...

  • Best apts in Plano, TX thanks to awesome staff

    My favorite apartments by far. We stayed for about 12 months and would have stayed a lot longer if my work did not relocate me. I had never had any issues there. When I needed something Casey Testolin in the leasing office was always there with a helping hand and made everything seamless and smooth for me and my roommate.     a lot of apartment homes. Property was always clean, grass cut and a nice scenery! My dog loved the dog park and just a general walk around the complex was fun we never worried about our cars being broken into or anything of that sort. These apartments are by far an incredible experience for someone that's either lived in apartments for a while or a new apartment lease tenant! Even when I moved out I did not get everything moved out on time and they still made sure to work with me to give me the time I needed to get my storage unit emptied out and not charge me any extra fees. If I ever end up back in Plano Texas this will be my goto for an apartment! Beautiful pools and amazing office staff. Cannot beat the curtesy I received while staying there and defiantly going to miss being there!

  • Do not move here

    Poor management, disorganized mess, rules constantly being changed, office phones are rarely answered, complaints go unheard, building alarms go off all the time and remain on for hours ,not enough parking for residents that don't want to pay for covered/garage parking, maintenance takes forever to respond and even longer to get the service completed. I've spoken with multiple other residents that have the same issues. For your own sanity I would advise against moving here!!!!

  • Pretty good overall

    This is a good aparent complex. We have lived here two years now. Pet friendly, well maintained, good pool, family complex. The only issue is management has changed frequently and they took a couple weeks to draw up our new lease agreement. Also i wish it was gated to provide security, but it is in a good part of town an we have not had any issues. Other than that i would recommend this complex 100%.

    I moved here a couple of years ago specifically because it was a newer complex, and because they had a floor plan that really suited my needs. The walls are a bit thin, but I think that's to be expected in a lot of newer complexes. I've always lived in apartments so I'm used to it, so I don't consider it to be that bad. Everything is new and clean, though I do think they mix styles a little too much. The combination of granite countertops with wood cabinets and wood floors with black and ...
    chrome appliances is a bit irritating to me. There are many parking problems, nowhere for visitors to park without being towed. Apparently they mis-counted when they first built the place and didn't allow for enough parking, and many residents have more than one spot that they're paying for. Those negatives aside, it has been a pleasant experience living here. The management has been good and I have never had any problem with my neighbors. I think my only real complaint is that there are a regular group of people that like to use the fitness center as a source of free wifi and cable. I suppose I could complain and maybe they would do something about it, but I didn't feel like being that guy :-) I'm leaving in a few weeks, but that's only because I'm moving to a new state. If I were staying in Texas, I would probably stay here for a long time. It has been one of the better apartments that I have had.
