Staff,Management and Living Environment
October 29, 2020The staff and management are very helpful, they make you feel right at home . They don’t walk with you to view a unit which takes away a lot of pressure. The living environment is pretty good, located near three metro stations , CVS is pretty close . They keep the building clean . The floor plans add up to the pictures and the virtual tour.Review from Apartments.com

Not a Place I Would Really Recommend
September 19, 2020I wouldn’t really recommend The Huntington if you don’t like living in a place with walls as thick as paper. It’s an old building, so sound really travels through the walls. I would routinely hear my next-door neighbor’s conversations every day. I would also frequently hear music on the weekends from the apartment right across the hall from me. Also, I could hear heavier footsteps, kids running, and furniture moving from the apartment above me. Roaches were a frequent presence in my apartment. I ...had an issue with a bedbug over the course of several months while living at The Huntington (and I still have pictures of the bed bug). After I first told building management that I suspected there was a bed bug in my apartment, they sent maintenance staff when I was away at work. The maintenance staff didn’t report seeing anything unusual even though there were bed bug droppings visible on my mattress. So, they didn’t pursue any action, and I had a few more bug bite incidents in the middle of the night over the next few months. Luckily for me, I eventually caught the bed bug on my own, and I didn’t have any other bug bite incidents after that. The building manager showed genuine concern and offered to call in pest control after I showed photos of the bed bug I caught. I will say that the building manager was very friendly and helpful overall. After my next-door neighbor had thrown a party on five consecutive weekends, I complained to the manager, and she sent a letter to my neighbor. The frequent partying stopped immediately, and my neighbor only threw one more party over my remaining 7 months there. I remember there was a paragraph in the lease that said if a tenant was too disruptive, management could kick them out with 30 days’ notice. That’s a nice disincentive for frequent partying. In addition, the front desk staff was usually pretty friendly, and the front desk was open 24/7, which was great. The building is close to a couple CVS’s and a Safeway. But, there isn’t much in the way of fast casual or fast food places nearby. The only thing is the Subway sandwich place across from the Safeway. This apartment building is quite a walking distance from the nearest Metro stations.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
