Old School Charm
August 14, 2015At first glance, the Newport just looks like another old dupont circle building but I love living here for many reasons. 1) The location cant be beat - it's a few steps from dupont and halfway to foggy bottom (four metro lines within walking distance, and unlimited bars and restaurants to choose from). It's in the center of everything yet on a quieter street, so you can get some sleep. 2) The building management and staff is awesome - I've never had an issue that wasn't immediately resolved. ...The front desk clerks know everyone by name and the manager will come look at a problem in your apartment the same day (even if it's his day off). 3) Community feel - again, it's where everyone knows your name, and all the residents are super friendly with each other. it's not one of the new high rises where you just feel like a number - this building really feels like a home 4) Living space is decent sized for the West End, and walls are super thick so you never hear your neighbors and they never hear you. - The amenities are few, there is no gym and no lounge space, no washer/dryer in units (but are on each floor) and the building is a little old. However, utilities are included and there is a great roof deck with a decent view and medium sized pool that doesn't ever get overly crowded.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
