Maintenance Review
July 23, 2023The maintenance guy is amazing!! I have never seen a maintenance person that loves and cares for his job so much like he those. The apartments are a bit old, but the upkeep with them and are always there to help no matter what, and that includes weekends and holidays and they come at any time to help.Review from Apartments.com
Management lost our deposit
August 10, 2022This complex changed over from the Cedars to the Topaz. We were residents during this change and while I can say there were some positive changes, this management was a nightmare upon moving out. We thought we were on great terms with the Topaz only to get a bill in the mail for over $700. I reached out immediately and was informed by their staff that due to the Cedar’s neglect they lost our deposit receipt. I said that’s not my problem, we paid the deposit it should be you that has that on file. ...Property management pushed back and sent us into collections. I really loved this place due to the maintenance staff alone, but their management is in absolute shambles and we’ll be touching base with a legal team after the collections dispute.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Would Avoid, worst apartment experience
July 6, 2019I've lived in 3 apartments since I've lived in San Marcos and gone to school down here. The only nice thing I can say about these apartments are the location and maintenance staff. I'm not a person that likes to complain at all so I was highly disappointed living here. When I first went to put down a deposit, I was told by Lisa that I would be getting a first floor hardwood apartment which is the only thing I wanted. However was not told otherwise until my move in day my apartment is actually 2nd ...floor all carpet. The walk through of the apartment she does the run through of the apartment without even giving us our own check list to look through the apartment ourselves which is not as nice as the viewing apartment. Quickly I start noticing problems living there, my dining room storage closet door didn't slide and eventually fell off asked them to fix it, it never got fixed. I swear for at least 6 months I just had the sliding door laying against the wall not sure what to do with it. My dish washer I had to hit with my hip several times just to get it to start. I was told I needed to lift it to make sure it was in there. My guest room had a ceiling fan that was hanging off the ceiling that looked like it would fall off at any use, and when I asked them to fix it they took it out completely and just left me with a light. My guest restroom was the worst. The shower had a constant drip that left a black moldy stain in the bathtub. You couldn't even take a bath in there if you wanted to because the shower was stuck on, so the water only came out of the shower head. Towards the end my toilet starting leaking that puddles of water would form and bubble the floor. Even after it was fixed it still leaked so I just put a plastic bowl under the leak and emptied it out daily. The bathes themselves looked so off I never even bathed in them because it grossed me out. The water heater in the restroom always had a dripping sound and there was a foggy green brown ring around the bottom filled with water because it had a water collector. That never set right with me. I believe these apartments are very overpriced for what you pay for. The office staff does not care about you. It was noisy all the time but that was my neighbors guess you wouldn't always have that problem.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Awesome Place
December 20, 2018I have only had a few issues with my apartment since living here and each time, Chase has taken care of it quickly. He really cares about the people here and they even served dinner for the tenants for some events. Much appreciated especially with us tenants who are from out of state! The place is quiet for the most part, close to shopping centers and easy to commute from. Also reasonably priced. The only improvement would be that they had a gym here, but other than that, it's an awesome place to ...live.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
