Up and coming neighborhood and building
August 14, 2015I took a chance moving to E Harlem 4 years ago. I'm happy I did but it has it's ups and downs. My apartment itself is wonderful. It's like my amazing little oasis from the crazy city of New York! The did a great job renovating the apartments with stainless steel appliances, beautiful hardwood floors, marble white bathrooms plus they're HUGE! But the building itself needs a lot of work. It has an advertised "doorman" besides one woman who's amazing (Estella) it's really just some person ...either sleeping or on the phone. They're always turning the water off for "plumbing repairs" people spit, litter, and smoke in the hallways. Management doesn't do much about it except wait for people to move out so they can renovate the apartments. The super is fantastic. He's always on top of everything and makes sure things get done. All in all I love my apartment. I probably won't move anytime soon. I would reccomend living in a renovated apartment if you have patience to tolerate some of the stuff that goes on because it will be a few more years before all the apartments are renovated.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
