Try a park in northeast of downtown Atlanta named Freedom Park. This is truly a special 210 acres of green rolling landscape. 43,500 people daily come to this park to run,bicycle, and play. Freedom Park has a long legacy going back to the Civil War, and Civil Rights movement(near birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.). Located inside the boundaries of the park are the Presidential Library, and the Carter Center. Also, local artists display their art throughout the grounds. Free copies of the art guide are provided on their web site and in green boxes located in the park. The park is open from 6:00AM to 11:00PM seven days a week.
