In most cities, artists can have a hard time finding space to create their masterpieces, with little money and not enough space to create, but Baltimore provides the art scene with a nice kick in the rear with the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, where apartment-ites with artistic bents to go to create their great works, in a community of artists just like themselves, within walking distance to some of the best performance venues in town. It also gives art fans a chance to explore a collection of works by the best artists in town, right in their very own studios. No matter what your medium, The Arts Tower gives you a home away from home where you can create your works. If you're lucky, you can even do your work at the Sylvia and Eddie Brown Studio free of charge for a year. Each year there's a long competition to discover the best artist in town, and the winner gets to stay and do their work in the studio. There are numerous other studios throughout the towers available for low prices that even starving artists can afford. The Arts Tower is not just a place for artists to create their works, but also provides a chance to art fans to take a look at some of the fascinating piece of work being created inside its doors. Every few months they hold an open studio day, where fans of the arts can come through and take a gander at just what's going down in this hip locale. It's a fantastic opportunity to check out works of up-and-comers that you might not be able to see anywhere else.
