When you want to grab a meal in Baltimore, its seems nearly impossible sometimes for an apartment-ite to find a restaurant that serves delicious food while at the same time keeping their prices low. Once place helping to stem the tide of high priced gourmet food is Atwater's, a famous spot for delicious breads, sandwiches and soups in the heart of Belvedere Square Market, where people for years have been coming to taste the flavor that only comes from all natural ingredients. Atwater's is all about keeping everything fresh and organic, with everything used being shipped directly from a farm, from their vegetables, to their eggs, to their flour, even their beef. When you take a bite of one of their sweets, breads, sandwiches or soups, you can really taste the different this dedication to being all-natural makes. Atwater's may have delicious sandwiches and soups, but how they made a name for themselves is with their fresh-baked breads. Their breads never use fats or sugars, and hardly ever use commercial yeast, instead using natural fermentation and traditional whole-wheat sourdough. Flavors include cranberry pecan, kalamata olive, toasted sesame, raisin walnut, or caraway rye, all using sourdough bread, or yeasted flavors such as chili cheddar, spelt, country white, french baguette, and rosemary Italian. While you're there, you also have to try some of their delicious pastries, which they make with the same promise of all-natural ingredients, so you know that with each sweet bite you're tasting something organic and natural. You can try their delicious German chocolate, coconut, chocolate hazelnut mousse or carrot cakes, or a jewel, linzer or lemon buttermilk tart, pecan, peach or strawberry rhubarb pie, or one of their delicious cookies or scones. Either way you slice it, it's a cleaner, healthier way to indulge your sweet tooth.
