There are certainly plenty of barbecue places, quick eat spots, burger joints and pizza stops to eat when you're a hungry Birmingham apartment-ite, but sometime you just want to pull out your best coat and tie, or your nicest black dress, and have a night on the town, taking in the best the culinary world has to offer, and not afraid of paying a little more for the benefit of it. The best place for upscale, Southern dining in Birmingham has got to be at Café Dupont. With old-fashioned Southern charm dripping from the very woodwork, Café Dupont is a testament to the days when everyone used to dress for dinner, and attention was paid to every item on the plate. The food is spectacular, the ambiance is breathtaking, and the service is above reproach, so if you're looking for a classy night out in town, this should be your top destination. The food in this restaurant is some of the best in the state, so be sure to enjoy it from beginning to end.
