This is where Dragon Fly Neo V Cuisine comes in - offering up a variety of delicious dishes with enough variety to appeal to vegan, vegetarian and "omni" apartment-ites alike. The restaurant uses mostly local and organic ingredients, some of which are actually grown on-site, so the menu varies by season. The entire menu is extremely innovative, featuring items such as pesto tofu and handmade farfalle with portabella and red wine sauce, and while there's a good amount of heart veggies used, the meat substitutes are equally creative (try the portabella bacon).The drinks range from classic brews to signature martinis (try the Lavender Gimlet or Organic Mimosa), and the plum cinnamon gelato is one of many mouth-watering offers on the dessert menu that you'll want to take back to your apartment. The décor is mostly eclectic, but the atmosphere and service are pretty upscale. As it's in the University District on King Avenue, it usually tends to be pretty busy, so get here early if you want a good table. One of the more popular times to come here is for the Saturday brunch (and includes dishes such as oyster mushroom calamari), but the restaurant maintains a relaxed coffeehouse vibe, showcasing local art, live music and hosting regular community events.
