When apartment-ites are out for a night on the town in Detroit, one event that most don't think about is a rollicking evening of theater, but with so many options to partake in, it is one of the most varied forms of entertainment you can find on any particular night. One theaters that's serving up some of the best in drama and dance is the historic Fox Theater, one of the most popular theaters in the country since the roaring, and still kicking today. Fox Theater is renowned worldwide for some of its many achievements, including being one of the first theaters to provide live sound, and it's the second largest venue of its kind in the United States, second only to the Radio Center Music Hall. It has seating for over five thousand people, and when the big shows make their way through, it's almost guaranteed that those seats will be full. Some of the biggest names in entertainment have graced its gorgeous stage, and some of the top films have graced its screen in the past. Though currently used mostly for Broadway musicals and other forms of drama, dance or opera, back in the day it was used as a movie theater, and to this day they still host movie premiers in this historic location. Some of the top shows make their way here each year, from kids entertainment to the best in musicals, with big names such as Donny Osmond even making an appearance.
