Belle Isle, Detroit's historic island park is an amazing day out for apartment residents and visitors to Detroit apartments. This gorgeous island is an attraction all its own but there is plenty of other things to do too. Visit the athletic complex and softball, baseball, football, soccer, rugby or run track in the 36 acre complex. Check out the ½ mile long swimming area on Belle Isle. It is the only public beach in Detroit and you wont want to miss it. There is a water slide to play on and the beach makes an excellent spot to view the annual hydroplane races each summer. Detroit apartments animal lovers can come to Belle Isle to visit the awesome zoo they have. Climb high into the Carillon Tower and look out onto the Detroit apartment sides below. There is a little slice of Detroit history at every turn on this Isle. Visit the old casino building. It built it 1887, it was once the finest casino in the nation. There is even a plant lovers paradise on the beautiful Isle. The conservatory has hundreds of plants of every type. You'll see cacti, succulents, palms and a gorgeous rose garden. That's not even all! There is a Yacht Club here and whole lot of fishing piers. There's a golf course, riding stables and several museums. The Coast Guard even has a station here.
