It's 13 acres of botanical beauty that you won't find anywhere else in Detroit, so if you like to take in gorgeous gardens and luscious lily ponds, then you have to find your way down to this place. The conservatory is broken up into five different sections, each offering a different form of flora for your perusal. The South Wing, or Tropical House, offers spectators the chance to take in large, tropical plants, including large palms, and tropical fruit trees such as banana, oranges, and coffee, as well as one of the largest collection of orchids in the world. The North Wing, the Cactus House and Fernery, includes plenty of species of cacti, ferns and several forms of succulents. The Show House is home to a number of gorgeous flowering plants, which any floral fan would be mad to pass up. There's also a pond filled with quaint lilies, a breathtaking rose garden, and plenty of perennials and annuals.
