Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the major airport. Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center serves as the major train hub.

Fort Worth also has what's called Loop 820, which wraps around the entire city to make navigation easier.

The museum contains many relics from the war including weapons, firearms, clothing, and one of the largest collections of Victorian era dresses. The museum also features lectures, shows, and living history performances. Fort Worth Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in Texas. The garden is over 100 acres and boasts over 20 gardens. Fort Worth Botanic Garden has a Japanese garden and a conservatory. The garden also offers events including summer camps, shows, and concerts. Texas Christian University is located near downtown and has excellent academics in research and liberal arts. TCU is well known for their athletics, especially their football team, the Horned Frogs.

What is there to do around Fort Worth?

The Fort Worth Zoo has over 7,000 species of of animals. With the huge selection of animals to see and exhibits to explore, the zoo is fun for both adults and children. The zoo contains a museum of living art with frogs and other amphibians. Guests can also marvel at our closest living relatives as the zoo houses all great ape species. The famous Texas Motor Speedway calls Fort Worth home. Texas Motor Speedway is one of the fastest race tracks in the country, and Nascar races are held there every year. Famous race car drivers have broken records and won cups there, including Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Brian Vickers. Every Friday and Saturday night the Stockyards holds Championship Rodeo at the Cowtown Coliseum. The rodeo has bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, and even Wild West shows.

Any annual festivals or Fort Worth events to know?

The Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival occurs every year in April. The festival is free and is a four day event featuring art, music, and delicious food. Use gift certificates to buy collectable pieces from talented artists. The Tarrant County Gay Pride Week is held annually in the fall. This festival features picnics, celebrations, parades, and encourages acceptance and pride of the LGBT community. Every year in the spring and fall the Fort Worth Botanic Garden holds the Japanese Garden Festival. The festival celebrates Japanese culture and features dance, martial arts, and tea ceremonies.

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

Fort Worth has a water park in the North Richlands area of Texas. The park has several single and multi-person slides, a beach, wave pool, playground, and a lazy river. Lake Worth is a beautiful lake located within the city limits. There are multiple campgrounds available, including an RV campground. Lake Worth is excellent for boating and fishing. Less than an hour and a half outside Fort Worth, in Thackerville Oklahoma, is Winstar Casino. The casino offers world class entertainment including music, concerts and stand-up comedy. Winstar has a nightclub in addition to exciting games like bingo, poker, and slots.

If you are looking for a great neighborhood for your next Fort Worth apartment, you might consider some of the following. Arlington Heights is one of the best neighborhoods in Fort Worth. The neighborhood is convenient to many grocery stores, restaurants, and public transport. It has little crime, a good school system, and a high income per household. Plano is also another great area in Fort Worth to live. There are many employers, including Toyota. The area also has an excellent school system and a vibrant downtown.
