Detroit is hopping with American cuisine restaurants, but sometimes apartment-ites want to shake it up a bit. A nice, juicy steak, delicious seafood and the like are all well and good, but sometimes they want unique, original dishes that they can't find anywhere else. Fiddleheads Restaurant and Bar is proud to provide Detroit apartment residents with creative American cuisine, traditional dishes made with a certain flair and finesse that turns them into something exciting and new. If you're looking for something off the beaten path, make your way up to this Royal Oaks hot spot and have a great time. To start your meal, pick one of their many salad or soup options, including field greens, with grape tomatoes, cucumbers and a Sherry vinaigrette, a knife and fork caesar with anchovy-caper tapenade and crispy Parmesan, or try the Fiddlehead charcuterie, with smoked salmon cheesecake, prosciutto with dates, and homemade sausage, or flash-fried cornmeal calamari, with Romesco sauce and crushed almonds, or chilled shrimp with a vegetable spring roll and a coconut wasabi sauce. For your main course, you can try some of their curried cauliflower samosa with eggplant jam, citrus-almond couscous and herb oil, spaghetti with veal meatballs with oven-dried tomatoes and balsamic vinegar, or the maple-marinated tofu with grain pilaf, Napa cabbage and a sweet pea-basil sauce. You can also try one of their more meat-centric dishes, such as their flat iron steak with ratatouille vegetables, herbed goat cheese potatoes, in a red wine sauce, mustard-herb lamb chops with cannelinni beans, tomatoes, green beans and fennel, or salmon with yukon gold potato has, roasted corn with pablanos and chives, in a tomato relish.
