Children have never been fond of most museums, finding them stuffy places with nothing interesting, a tedious exercise for everyone involved, but Indianapolis apartment-ites with children now have a fun for way to kids to learn while also having a good time. If you're looking to teach your kids something about the world around them, while also making sure they have the best time, come on down to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, a massive educational playground with something to interest just about any child, no matter what his or her interests may be. It's a must for anyone with children in the city, and a great way for the kids to have a fun time outside the Indianapolis apartment. There a number of fascinating and entertaining exhibits to take your tyke to, each exploring a different part of the world around them. For those children who just love their comics, there's the COMICS Exhibit, featuring memorabilia and information on the famous characters in comic books, and the talented artists who made them famous. This includes a collection of over 200,000 comics, as well as numerous action figures, lunchboxes and numerous other pieces that make this trip a worthwhile one. Also available for perusal is the Scienceworks exhibit, teaches children about various ecosystems and the forces of nature that keep the strands tied together. It also features a construction site that teaches children all about simple machines, as well as many important engineering principles, aswell as a Creek Area that teaches visitors about the laws of buoyancy, surface tension and other scientific principles. Another popular exhibit is the What If... gallery, which features hands on activities involving a colorful coral reef, a dinosaur discovery area, and an Egyptian tomb, all which feature fun and interactive stations and elements to delight and amaze. The Children's Museum also features the Lilly Theater, home to some of the top children's performances in the city. The theater has been producing fun and light plays for children for over twenty-five years now, so you know they really know their stuff. The plays produced are mostly those based on popular kids stories, such as fairy tales or children's books, and are always tame and never very violent. It's a fun and safe opportunity for children to explore the world of theater without being exposed to more adult elements before their time. There's an entire world to explore within the doors of the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, so much so that your children may take more than one trip to explore all of the different exhibits and activities. For children who are tired of just hanging around their Indianapolis apartments, and for the parents who are tired of having to look after the little monsters, the Children's Museums offers kids a fun, and educational, opportunity to get experience the world around them like they never have before.
