If you're looking to take in a show, you can do it at one of the best and most famous theaters in town, and before or after you can check out all the fascinating exhibits the museum has to offer. It's everything a fan of the arts could want all in one place. The Ritz Theater is home to some of the hottest shows in town on a regular basis, filled with touring acts as well as local productions by some of the top companies in town, as well as numerous traveling speakers and performers. Such famous names as Archbishop Desmond Tutu have taken this stage, as well as numerous greats in the operatic and jazz worlds. Every few months they make way for the latest program by the Ritz Voices Youth Choir, as well as the ever popular Amateur Night at the Ritz. If a show's not quite what you're after, you can take in all the intriguing exhibits available for persual at the LaVilla Museum. Its most famous for its collection of African American historical items, featuring photographs and artifacts telling the story of the African American's trials and tribulations in Northeast Florida. It also houses a collection of fine art, folk art, local art and historical exhibits for a visitor to take in.
