Explore Los Angeles
Inside such a hip, bustling town like Los Angeles, apartment-ites would never expect to find somewhere where they can enjoy the wonders of the natural world, but the LA Zoo provides apartment residents with just that. If you want an escape from the thrill-a-minute excitement of the magic store, take a short trip down the Los Angeles Zoo and take a walk amongst all the beasts and birds, and learn a little something while you're doing it. It's one of the best ways to enjoy the beauty of nature inside the city limits. The Los Angeles Zoo has all of the fantastic animals you would want to see, from elephants, to lizards, to monkeys, to lions, to any number of furred, feather or scaled beasts. In each section of this large zoo, you'll find more animals that you'd ever think existed, from ferocious land mammals like African lions, and snow Leopards, to maned wolves and bat-eared foxes, playful sea otters, dwarf rabbits and lesser Asian civets, to the imposing elephants, hippos and rhinoceri. They also have a large collection primates, including mandrills, monkeys, lemurs, chimps, orangutans, and even gorillas, as well as plenty of gazelles, giraffes, and zebras. If mammals aren't your thing, they have a number of interesting bird exhibits, covering flyers such as double-watted cassowaries, ostriches, peacocks, parrots, even an Andean condor. Reptiles weren't forgotten, with exhibits devoted to our scaly friends like Aldabra Tortoise, the shingleback skink, alligators, snakes, and inland bearded dragons. They even have hissing cockroaches, tarantulas, and other invertebrates for those looking for something a bit different. For apartment-ites who love animals, there's not better place to spend a lazy afternoon than at the Los Angeles Zoo, one of the only places in town you can catch natural beauty such as this.
