With 425 acres to view and enjoy, residents of East Rock Park apartments have an excellent respite from city life. With miles and miles of trails to explore for the New Haven apartment dweller, you could almost get lost, if it were not for the excellent signage and maps available. With so much to do here, you could almost spend a couple nights here, away from your East Rock Park apartment, if only they had campsites available. Sitting at the summit of East Rock is the 300 foot outcropping of rock that has a gorgeous view of New Haven. The recreation potential for New Haven apartment residents is amazing, with several baseball diamonds, soccer fields and basketball courts. And tennis courts and a football field and track round out the group sports activities. For the individual athlete, there are plenty of hiking trails for the runner and walker alike, as well and bike and mountain bike trails, birding areas and playground equipment for the little residents of East Rock Park apartments. Situated to the east and south of Lake Whitney, which is part of the property and runs through the park as Mill River, the park also offers canoeing. The majestic Soldier's and Sailors monument at East Rock Park is not to be missed. It stands 112 feet and was built in memorial to New Haven's heroes from early wars fought on American soil. East Rock Park is open year round and offers winter activities as well such as cross country skiing and sledding trails. It's open sunrise to sunset, so if you can't get away from your job during the week, take an escape from your New Haven apartment some weekend and enjoy the natural beauty.
