If you ever wanted to explore the world of coin collecting in an in-depth and intriguing way, then a visit to the American Numismatic Society could be just the spot for you. This museum has a varied and wide selection of coins to peruse, not just American coinage either. They have money from all the way back to the days of Greeks and Romans, even some of the Byzantine and East Asian empires. They also have a nice selection of modern coins, as well as coins from US vast history. In addition to their exhibitions or rare coins and other moneys, they also have a research library for reading up on histories and getting further information on the coins you crave. With a stunning 100,000 volumes, consisting of books, periodicals, and other assorted pieces, there’s nothing you can’t learn from the vast volumes at your finger tips. Anything you ever wanted to see or learn about coinage is on display in this museum, a coin collector’s paradise. New York City has a number of interesting museums, but no other place in town can give apartment-ites quite what the American Numismatic Society can offer, a up close and personal look at the monetary units that have made the world go round for centuries, making up a vital part of our history, and even our future.
