Perfect for one person or a couple, you will have plenty of room to cozy up with a book or gaze up at Mingus Mountain. This quiet and peaceful spot is a perfect home-away-from-home. You will be residing in the historic Bell House, former home of John and Bette Bell of Clarkdale fame. John was an area historian whose photos, artifacts and memorabilia are housed in the John Bell Museum, a boxcar mere blocks from the house at the Verde Canyon Railway Depot. The home has been painstakingly renovated with modern conveniences but care to retain the original feel and charm of its origins in 1915. The beautiful front porch overlooking the Clarkdale Town Park spans the whole front of the house. The large living/dining area boasts large windows for beautiful light- a dining table and chairs along with two seating areas are set atop original wood flooring. A SmartTV and work area with desk are in the great room as well. The updated full kitchen with gas stove, butcher block counters, and dishwasher, has plenty of storage and is ready for your home cooking. For days you'd rather eat out, there is a Mexican food restaurant and a brewery with daily food trucks each a short walk across the park. The master bedroom has a new queen mattress and a large closet as well as a generous-sized dresser for plenty of storage. Blackout curtains are included for late sleepers or night-shifters. The attached bath is tastefully done with tile reminiscent of the era it was built. With period photos and artwork throughout, the historic feel is complete. Come help us care for a piece of history! (Owners suite at the back is a completely separate unit with its own entrance so no one will disturb you during your stay.) Cooler than Phoenix (but less than 2 hours to the airport), warmer than Flagstaff (and less than 1 hour to the mountain pines), and 30 min from beautiful Sedona, Clarkdale is perfect year-round.
