Want to add some extra flavor to a somewhat boring room?
Easy! Pick a dark color that matches your furniture and the other parts of the room you wish to accent. Then paint one of the walls in the room that very color. Be sure to check with you manager to make sure that you are allowed to paint your wall first though. If you are feeling really outrageous, go ahead and paint two walls that color, but make sure that they are opposite each other.
Add a rug that matches the new and old wall colors in the center of the floor in the room and underneath the furniture. You can then get a matching blanket and pillows to throw on your couch.
If you want to add some fun decorations around the room, now you have a great color scheme to work with. Select a number of framed paintings that match, place a few candles on your end tables, shelves, and coffee tables, and even get new drapes that fit the scheme.
If you are feeling really ambitious, buy some track lighting from your nearest superstore, and mount them to the ceiling to lighting that effects mood (also be sure to check with management to make sure mounting lights would be okay).
Voila! You have a whole new decorated room. Now, just sit down and enjoy it!
NOTE: Just remember that if you paint any walls, you will likely need to paint back over them when you move out one day.
