A great destination for people who live in Plaza de Cesar Chavez apartments is the park by the same name near their doorway. The Plaza is an excellent place to people watch, play in the fountain, take a walk or enjoy a good book on one of the many park benches or grassy areas. You don't have to bring much, unless you want to share it with a friend from your San Jose apartment, because there is so much to see in this just over two acre park. Whether you or your younger Plaza de Cesar Chavez apartment dwellers want to play, the fountains are a blast! Placed in the ground on a concrete area with water spurting up like geysers, you can have a fantastic time predicting which will spurt the highest and when. There are plenty of shade trees here too, so you can take an afternoon stroll without fearing the heat too badly. Make sure you get to see the extravagant "snake" statue. The other excellent nature of the park is its hosting of annual events such as the San Jose Jazz festival, Christmas in the Park and the finishing area for the San Jose Rock and Roll Marathon, plus a few fund raising events throughout the year. When you live in some Plaza de Cesar Chavez apartments, all you have to do is walk home, saving cab fare, or possibly your driver's license! Restaurants and shopping abound in the area, so you can always find something else to do before you head back to your San Jose apartment if you happen to visit during the day.
