Voted #1 garden by Sarasota and Florida magazines, the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens apartment dwellers have got to be the happiest plant lovers in the state. In under ten acres, over 20,000 different varieties of plants are thriving and come from tropical rain forest expeditions and are displayed magnificently. A colorful orchid house, a bamboo garden, the pretty Banyon grove and an exciting Mangrove Walkway are just a few of the plant exhibits. But wait, at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, the Sarasota apartment resident can see even more in the way of a relaxing Koi Pond, a dramatic butterfly garden, cool poison dart frogs and incredible views of the Sarasota Bay. While you're there, stop in for a drink in the Local Tea and Coffee shop with just that in a variety of flavors and presentations to drink, along with tasting delicious pastries, muffins and creative lunch selections. On the property is located the historical Christy Payne Mansion that is open for viewing tropical photography and botanical art.
