want to have to drive the ONE HOUR it takes for him to get from his home to the property.. Had a hole knocked into my unit from repairs being done in the unit next door - the "repair" was a sheet of mylar slapped over the hole - forget anything like even sheetrock or spackle. Never had repainting done once in over 10 years. If you don't mind paying high utility costs for your own hot water and heat, and think over $1K/mo for small units - many 1 BR are NOT 900 sf there -(mine was 475 sf) is a bargain, go for it. You'll find better maintained units, heat/hot water included in other complexes. It is very convenient to commute into the city (but resident parking fees at the train station are pricey) and the school district is great. There are some great people living there, but towards the end, I found it very transitory, and felt like I was living in the Bronx with trash thrown off the balconies, kids running around screaming, littering and bass booming enough to be felt floors away.
