A Quiet Refuge in a Bustling Suburb
August 16, 2015I was living in another apartment in El Cajon less than a mile away last year, and it was awful. A bus stop, 711 and busy intersection were right outside our window. We had rats in our yard and storage closet, black widow spiders, the one bathroom sink would not drain, a tiny kitchen with an awful old oven, everything falling apart with repair men never coming when we needed them to, and there was no central air conditioning. When we had to move due to it being sold as off as a condo, I didn't ...think anything else in El Cajon would be better. Living at 550 Graves Avenue is a pleasure and I finally am comfortable, safe and proud of where I live. We pay $200 more a month than our last place and for that, we have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, central air, a beautiful open kitchen, modern utilities, and lots of storage space. The apartments are nestled in a corner of the city that is magically not near any businesses or busy street - my car insurance rate even when DOWN because they deemed this neighborhood safer. Yes, the highway is out our window, but road noise does not bother me compared with people thumping load music from their cars late at night over at 711 and crazy, drunk arguments outside our window at all hours of the day like the last place. I love that we have a master bathroom with a gorgeous glass shower, and that this complex is dog friendly. I also love having a spare room so my parents and my significant other's parents, who both live plane rides away rather than down the street, have somewhere free to stay when they visit. We also have a friendly, responsive landlord and I look forward to staying here for as long as is possible. My only complaints, which are not the landlord's fault and not that important to me anyway, are that we only have one designated parking space, no fitness facility, no pool, the kids in this complex can be a little rowdy yet they are off the grounds by about 8 at night, and I wish there were more modern laundry facilities (newer machines and maybe even a card reader versus paying with quarters). Otherwise, I LOVE being here! I mean, really - I can work out without having a facility full of machines, we have many beaches a mere 15 minute drive away for a cool dip, and my clothes are always clean after washing them in our machines.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
