Needs more attention to maintenance of the property

Parking and landscape issues
January 25, 2019I have lived here for 3 years and since the switch of management companies, it has gone down hill. Parking is an issue. You have 92 apartments and everyone at least has two cars however you have not running vehicles. Vehicles parked just for storage. And you have to park outside the gates. The the landscapers they have a lack of regard for tenants vehicles, and when I would complain to the manager I would get that they change landscapers all the time and they don’t communicate well with them.Property Manager Responded
January 28, 2019While we’re very appreciative of the four-star rating, we’re very sorry to hear that there are some parts of your experience here at Deer Valley Regency that are less than positive and would love to take a moment to address these issues. Concerning our parking policy, each apartment comes with one covered space. The remainder of the open parking is first-come-first-served. We understand that open parking is a bit scarce and that, should there be none available, some of those with two vehicles may be required to park outside the gate. We are quite keen on keeping inoperable or unregistered vehicles from clogging these open spaces and have retagged all questionable vehicles this morning. Additionally, our towing company tags every week and we will make sure to discuss with them any extra scrutiny requested of your review. We’ve ensured that our landscapers are aware of the care required of them to be considerate of resident vehicles. While we assure you that they do their best to keep ...vehicles clean, we will certainly follow up with them to express your concerns. That being said, the blowers used by the landscapers to keep our community free of debris can, inadvertently, blow some dust onto resident vehicles, even when using the most care. As our landscapers visit the property on Wednesdays, might we suggest that we avoid the situation by parking outside of the gate on this day? This way, the landscapers can clean the property while keeping resident vehicles completely free of dust or leaves. We sincerely appreciate that you took the time to provide us with your feedback and will be keen to follow up with you on any further development. BED BUGS
September 5, 2018Let me start off by saying they fool you with kindness. I loved everyone of the staff members, this was my first apt and I thought it was crazy I got so lucky. Well it was just that. A month before my lease was up I had a random "inspection" while I wasnt home. Which I'm sure was to see the condition of the apt. Which I kept my apt clean and neat all the time. I lived there for almost 11 months and had not brought any furniture or anything else new into the apt since day one. Yet somehow my apt ...was magically infested with bedbugs both bedrooms keep in mind there was nothing In the 2nd bedroom so no reason for them to be in there as they follow you. They dont travel by clothes because it's not dark enough & too much movement. However conveniently about 2 months prior a couple different people moved in to the apt behind mine. And the bed bugs were only in the bedrooms none in the livingroom. They were even in the bathroom which is very odd but convenient since they came from the other apt. So even though I didnt contract them I was responsible. And as much as I didnt want to I accepted that what I didnt accept and no where in my lease did it say I had to use their company that charges over $500. I found a cheaper 5star company but I couldn't use them. Needless to say they blame you for something you didnt do and I doubt they checked the nearby apts after they sprayed mine to see if they traveled so they'll be making bank on the next 7 apts they'll have tenant force to use their company.Property Manager Responded

We are intent on providing the highest quality of service possible to our residents and we apologize for any frustration that you may have felt as a result of your time at Deer Valley. Bedbugs are an issue that, unfortunately, can happen to anyone at any time. You are correct that it is unlikely for bedbugs to travel on clothing. However, they are able to travel on items such as luggage, backpacks, and briefcases brought into your home. Bedbugs can be picked up completely by accident, and hotels are a significant source of the issue as are friends' homes, neighbors, and previously owned furniture. Additionally, we completely understand that you don't feel that the bed bugs found in your apartment were the result of you bringing them in. However, it is our policy that, after the origin has been determined by the pest control inspectors, the treatment will be charged to the tenant. This is to ensure ...the protection and health of everyone in the Deer Valley community and to ensure that the issue is dealt with promptly before the bedbugs are able to spread to more apartments in the commmunity. We are very sorry that you were caused stress by this issue and we would be happy to do our best to remedy the situation! If you ever have any questions concerning the terms of your lease or the situation in general, we are more than happy to walk you through our policies and anything else we are able do for you. Great place
January 23, 2018Great place to live!!management and maintenance staff are very good.. never had a issue that they couldn’t be resolved very promptly. Little bit of a parking problem(not enough spots) but everyone generally parks where they’re supposed to. Other apartment complex’s can’t compare!!Property Manager Responded

July 28, 2015The staff is incredible, always willing to help. The work out room is small but adequate. The pool and grounds are well maintained. The apartments themselves are large 2/2 bedroom units, very spacious, with a private patio. The complex does have a security gate but remains open during office hours. I was always told location, location, location. The complex is close to the 101, a plus. The downfall is you may feel like your living in the hood. Quality Spot
July 21, 2015This spot is close to my work, so i save on gas, The inside is very spacious for a two bedroom two bath, each room has its own shower, and the living area is a good size so you don't feel cramped. the kitchen has everything you need, and they have a washer and dryer which is a plus!, everything was clean and well kept so far its been a good experience living here.Reseña de Apartments.com
Has gone down hill with new management
May 16, 2014Since the new management company has taken over, rent has gone up and service has gone down. At one time this was a community of families, and the property manager knew everyone by first name. Enter the new management.... the family setting is gone and a lot of the apartments are rented to local trade school students. Nothing against the students, but they are here short term and don't care about the property because to them it's not a home, it's temporary housing. They are stacked 4 students to ...each 2 bedroom unit. That's 4 vehicles per apartment which brings us to the parking problem. Residents frequently have to park on 23rd Ave rather than in the complex parking lot, as the management has done away with the "permit required" parking sticker policy. Speaking of the management, the office once had Saturday hours, they have now done away with that. That was about a year ago, and the sign still says they are open on Saturday. Finding someone actually in the office is a real task. The Manager (the only person they have working in the office) frequently disappears for hours at a time. I think the "Office Hours" sign should read "Open whenever we feel like it" The only bright spot is the Maint. man. He is prompt and knowledgable, and does a good job of keeping the property looking clean.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
