DO NOT RENT (EVEN WHEN OWNED BY UT)
March 1, 2022Avoid at all costs. UT purchased this dorm and the dorm has still been uninhabitable-- no heating in the ice storm, no hot water for a few weeks, etc. They also changed the terms of the lease without consent, suddenly banning items that had been approved by the previous owner. No regard for the rights of student tenants and the building is an absolute mess and they've done little to nothing to improve it yet. Do not be tempted.Reseña de Apartments.com
Water is always cold
January 21, 2022Water is always cold & elevators sometimes work. Work order was resolved on the 19th & guess what…it’s the 21st & the water is cold again & to top it off it’s freezing outside. Nothing works
November 4, 2021This place is awful. The elevators always seem to be broken and when they do work it takes forever just to get to any floor, the washers/dryers never work and I got charged 1.10 for each load of laundry I did, the meal plan is garbage and wayyy to overpriced, the ac is super random and we have no control of the temp of our room, and the list goes on and on. Choose anywhere else to live in Austin except this place. The location does NOT outweigh the negatives hereProperty Manager Responded

HVAC terrible
June 16, 2021The air conditioning was terrible. It was not a maintenance issue, where the unit was broken and needed fixing.... they simply refused to turn the A/C on.Property Manager Responded

It’s like they don’t care about their residents
June 11, 2021The AC is nonexistent. They claim they have AC but it never really works, and they don’t do anything about it. They also don’t do anything about the insect problem. Come on, this is Texas!! If you’re operating a residential building in Texas, it’s imperative that AC and pest control is taken care of.Property Manager Responded

Terrible
May 26, 2021There’s cockroaches, no free parking, and the AC is terrible during the summer time. It will literally stay 80 degrees or above in the apartment starting in April and they will not fix it for you. The walls are also thin, so you’ll be able to hear almost everything. Again, the worst thing is the air conditioning and I tried to call five times about it and each time they did not care. Oh, and the “amazing rooftop pool” is really just a pool on the second or third floor, it’s not going to be like ...the other complexes.Property Manager Responded

Number 1 spot for anyone to lease at!
December 9, 2020I really loved all the amenity spaces Dobie provides for its guests. Staff is always having weekly giveaways for residents and are always willing to help with any questions over the phone. I loved my stay here so much I signed my lease early for the next year! If you quality and want to be close to the campus this spot is perfect not just for students but for anyone!!Property Manager Responded

Long time tenant
December 23, 2019I've lived at Dobie for a few years, and the reviews from the past are a bit outdated. Too many renovations have been done! This place runs so much smoother than when I moved in! The elevators have been entirely upgraded, the cafe has made some better decisions recently, and the staff is killer. Olivia, Becky, Sam, Tyler, Chris, Milena, Holli, Charlemagne, Ryan, Andrew, Josh, Matthew, & Abigail are a tight-knit team ready to help out with whatever you need.
