September 17, 2019Do not move here! Do not allow the exterior of the property to fool you. 1. Front office never follows up. 2. They will try and cash your cashiers check multiple and give you an issue about it. 3. Rent is due 1-3 vs the 5th 4. Neighbors are loud/ and children 5. Ive witnessed several fights 6. I've witnessed a couple having sex in their car. 7. When you make a request for bugs, you have to make 3-4 times before someone comes out. 8. The apartments have a,lot of spiders/ odd bugs 9. When I stopped by to complete my application Dawn was very patient with me while reviewing my application to ensure there weren’t any mistakes. New Manager Needed
July 28, 2018I'm reading these reviews and most of these people are not lying, they just doesn't see the real problem. The problem with this property is the Manager Dawn. She is rude, short, and doesn't help her staff. I personally witnessed her fussing at her staff. She doesn't realize that the office has an echo so we can hear her when she told the pregnant lady "they are just going to have to wait because I am busy, not go do some work". We couldn't get any clear information from the lady who sits up front ...as she seemed very confused. So we asked for the managers name and she wrote it down on a card. When we called the lines we're busy. There is another lady that looks so nervous every time the Manager came out that we didn't get a chance to talk to her. The office stay busy and the same 3 girls are working it while the Manager walks around giving orders and not helping. We had to come back twice and finally got the pregnant lady who everyone calls on to do everything. She gave us all the information we needed and we were able to fill out the application. This property is beautiful and the working staff is very friendly especially the pregnant lady but the property needs a new manager.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
A poor excuse for a new apartment complex in that area
July 20, 2018A staff member I don't know her name but I can find out. that lady is so rude and so disrespectful and I believe every comment that's on this website cuz people are walking in to get information about the apartment to give a name to give a number or email address to get in touch with and she in some evil kind of way don't want you to leave that,She hinders you from that she was so rude she wouldn't even let you complete a sentence of the questions that you was trying to ask if she would stop you ...in the middle of asking her a question. it's the most horrible experience I've ever experienced in my life dealing with apartment complex dealing with people that act like they own and operate and they bought and paid for and build the building themselves. It's a sad world people don't know your experiences don't know what you're going through everyone needs somewhere to stay everyone needs a chance in life,give them a chance and not just shut them down and push them away as if everybody is doing something wrong you have personal issues don't spill it out over into the people that's walking in the door.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
Don't watse your time !!!
July 19, 2018Still don't know if I'm approved or not. I was told I would be called and then they said oh your gonna received a letter in the mail. Haven't received a call or a letter and I applied at the end of April. That was a waste of time. I've been up there many times and just like everyone else said they do not answer the phone and tell you different stuff when you do get in contact with them.Reseña de Apartments.com
What Glitters Aint Always Gold
July 16, 2018To apply you will feel like you buying a house. Lots of paperwork. It takes about 2 hours to complete not to mention all the things you have to bring to verify your banks your income your current living, original birth certificates, social security cards and your credit must be top notch or decent. While we were there the first visit a few people were coming in asking for their deposits back. Theres always 15 or more people waiting in the lobby to apply or waiting for money back. I saw the unit ...and was floored it was gorgeous and priced right. We came back spent 3 hours or more filling out the paperwork with our small children. Gave our money orders to start the process. We were told by the sweet lady Victoria who is left alone on Saturdays to process all these people's apps and talk to hundreds of people while the other 4 people working in the office does nothing. I saw this and Victoria didnt tell me this. It was really sad. I felt sorry for her. I offered to help. The staff told us to come back on Saturday knowing that Victoria will be alone and she processes all her applications. So when I returned on Monday to get my deposit back because I didnt get a call from her saying we were pre approved the lobby was filled again and the other 4 workers were there doing nothing while she sat with more applicants. So I asked her, if we let you process the docs could we move in sooner. Her other helpers in the room standing next to me didnt budge to tell her they would help her process or anything. They know Saturdays are the busiest days and they leave her there every saturday alone. This is why the process takes long. Shes the only one doing something and thats not right at all. I would like to say that until they figure out another team this property will go down before its finished being built. Not mad I didnt get it because I didnt let her run it to see if I was qualified. I am upset to see a system flawed. THey've been open since April 2018 and only 25 residents are in the units due to this flawed process. I witness over 6 people ask for their money back and they have been waiting for months for approval. I see why now.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com

July 10, 2018I had to go all the way down town for documents I told them I did not have I did not need because it didn't apply to me but still made me go down there then when I get back my application is nowhere to be found so within an hour you have lost my application that is not professional that at all and then you asked me to do another one.....they all was rushing they was fighting time....now can't even get anyone one the phoneProperty Manager Responded

Rude staff

Poor management
July 8, 2018I did an app in May And I would call to try to check the status of my application. They hardly ever answer the phone. And the lady who do answer does not know how to talk to people. I’m not sure if she’s the Manager or not but She’s rude and everytime I did get a chance to talk to her about my application she would tell me different stuff.Property Manager Responded

Horrible Staff
June 23, 2018The property is brand new and looks beautiful on the outside. However, as nice as the property looks, the management is rude and disrespectful. In particular, the lady by the name 'Ms. Jackson'. Her attitude is nasty towards everyone that I witnessed her encounter, including myself. She lacks basic people skills and simple respect for other humans. She speak to people as if they are children. When simple questions are asked, she only has a smart remark, instead of actual fact or answers. ...She is not the manager but seems to be the first line of communication for the property. However, the way she parades around the place, you would think she was the owner. Unfortunately, I cannot speak of the other staff members because each time I go in, it always seems to be Ms. Jackson as the first line of communication. I have even witnessed her disrespect her fellow co-workers. I wish to apply there, but am very skeptical because if she is the face of the property, her representation for Independence Heights suggests that this is NOT going to be a great living experience. Any prospective tenants are potential customers, spending their hard earned money. No one deserves to be talked to in a place of business the way that she does. Despite Ms. Jackson's lack of respect and information, the property probably would have earned 5 stars from me. However because of her blatant disrespect and nasty, rude attitude and lack of information, this 5 star property quickly devalues to a 1 star!Property Manager Responded

Poor management
June 19, 2018Applied back in mid April. Kept calling to see status off application and was consistently told two weeks. Called the Management company Allied Orion, on the property then received a letter 6/13 stating that my app was rejected due to exceeding income. Called the management company again and left 3 voicemails to get answers concerning the letter after the office went over my income when I applied and the letter stated there was documentation supporting their decision. There was none. I'm still ...waiting on a return phone call from the property management. A friend has called and it is if the office phone was forwarded to a personal cell phone. I would hate to see how this property is ran when the officially open.Property Manager Responded
June 21, 2018Hello! As part of Houston Housing Authority, we have specified income restrictions. If your income is over a certain amount, then you do not meet the requirements. We can not make exceptions. Yes, while we were under construction, we bought a cell phone for all of our calls to go to since we did not have a leasing office and wanted to make sure we answered everyone's inquiries. Our leasing office is now built and we can be reached at the same number.
