Termites and Unmotivated Management
May 28, 2021When my friends and I first moved in we enjoyed it. It was quiet, cheap-ish, and close to everything. I started seeing termite droppings on my PILLOW! There were beams in the ceiling that were Infested with termites and I didn't know this until the droppings were apparent. Not only was this super gross, but also the reason why my skin started to get itchy and red with bumps to the point that I had to see doctors about the irritation. The apartment/management didn't seem to care at all, they said ...termites were normal and would come to "treat" the tree beams but the termites never went away. So I had to sleep on the sofa or floor in the living basically the whole year I stayed there. There was no concern from management (in fact they are very rude and conflict avoiding; Cassandra was a horrible at taking care of things). I really wanted to enjoy living here as some aspects were really nice, but this whole termite situation and the way management did not even care (no discount/apologies/actual solutions were provided) really messed with my head mentally. I have never lived in a place that directly caused mental health deterioration lol absolutely horrible time of my life.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
Roaches, car break-ins, and unsympathetic Western Management
March 19, 2019There are roach issues with roaches coming up through the drains. When told of such issues, management feeds the PR line of that is the first or that they call them not roaches but water bugs. Multiple cars have been broken into despite a "security" gate that seems to only keep out renters that have lost or had their gate keys stolen. Recently a string of shady characters climb over the wall and onto the carports from the neighboring businesses to hide out or do what ever they are doing that ...requires them to trespass. Maplewood has hired security that comes out of the rents of the residents however they are never seen except to lock the pool gate at 10:00 PM. It is tough to justify paying the over prices rents when your car gets broken into, roaches are crawling up into your apartment, and rents increase with every lease renewal despite rents in the area declining. This place is overpriced for not having central air and old buildings and to top that off renters have to pay for their own water and trash, so expect an additional bill each month. I do not recommend and will not recommend any properties owned by Western Management Company.Leer MásReseña de Apartments.com
Close to Shopping, but going down slowly...
July 31, 2015We have lived here for about 6 years. the first few years were fine. They have changed management and it slowly went down. Onsite Maintenance person is great but the management is slow. Tree drop seeds all over the place and you can't help track it into your Apt on your shoes. We we moved it, there were not that many animals in the complex, but slowly it become a dog park, DON'T WALK ON THE GRASS or off any of the payment. You will step in it. Simply average.
