The previous complex manager was bad, but this new one, Rita, is the worst. She sits in the office and watches everyone coming and going to the point of obsession. If you have weekend guests or a party, she definitely mentions it the next time she sees you, like you're not supposed to have company or enjoy yourselves in a place you pay for, and has called the local police for guests lingering in the parking lot while leaving. In nice weather, she walks around the property looking for things to call tenants about, will tell you that she is "trying to get some exercise" but is really looking at tenant movement. A single neighbor complained to us that Rita insisted a new boyfriend who visited often needed to have a background check and be put on the lease since he was there often and "in case something happened in the apartment" they would be covered in case of liability. (isn't that what renters insurance is for?) It's crazy that a person that pays rent isn't allowed to naturally progress in a relationship and have regular visits without the management asking personal questions about it. And talk about awkward telling a boyfriend that he has to be on your lease because he comes over a lot! And the maintenance guy is equally nosey, fixing things while looking for something to report back to the office. I've never been so glad to move from a place!
