Fine apartment, terrible building
August 13, 2015I've lived in this apartment for about two years and will be moving out soon. The apartment in spacious, is in good-enough shape, and all appliances etc. have generally worked as expected. However, the building is old and falling apart. There have been days in the winter with no hot water, we've had multiple issues with mold growing in the bathroom ceilings and requiring repairs (which were done poorly) and one instance of plaster falling from the ceiling. The common areas of the building ...are likewise in terrible shape: carpeting should have been replaced years ago and walls are never painted despite assurances when we moved in that those things were done regularly. Lastly, there is at least one tenant in the building who frequently has loud screaming fights with other people or plays music and incredibly loud volumes all day and into the night. Attempts to deal with that tenant directly or through the landlord failed entirely to help the situation. The location, on the other hand, is incredible. Close to transit and located in a fantastic and vibrant neighborhood.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
