Charming Building in a GREAT Neighborhood
September 7, 2015This is a great building with doormen, trash service (each unit/floor every weekday morning), package notification service, full outdoor courtyard garden, large laundry room (Quarters only: 4-5 washers and dryers) in basement (with bike rack storage space), and live in Super. Cons: No central heat/ac (radiators only)- but that is honestly ALL that I can think of! You will def. get your bang for your buck as units are below market rate and management does a great job at maintaining the building. ...Built in 1917, it is 6 stories (2 elevators) with 43 units. Most tenants are families with children and dogs, and I hear have been living here for quite a few years- which says a lot in a city where people move every couple years or so. Though rent is not stabilized, the increase (3-5%) is moderate and affordable for NYC standards. Not sure about other units, but the rooms in my unit are very big, about 12’ x12’ (not including closets). This building’s also in a great location. Located at the South East Edge of Brooklyn Heights and nearby Downtown Brooklyn, it is just a few minute's walk of great dining, shopping, the Brooklyn Bridge/Smorgasburg, and several Metro lines- 4,5,2,3,R (Borough Hall) & A,C,F,R (Jay St). Big retailers include: Barnes and Noble, Trader Joe's, Sephora, Starbucks, Key Food, the Gap, Banana Republic (outlets), and H&M just to name a few.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
