Renters Reviews and Ratings
Affordable, spacious, convenient.
October 5, 2015I love our apartment. It's a one-bedroom with about 1,000 sq. ft. of space, a huge living room and a sprawling bedroom. The grocery store is one block away, a shoreside park baskbetball courts baseball fields are three blocks away, and tons of restaurants and shopping options nearby. The neighborhood is safe, beautiful and residential. We also live on the first floor. There is laundry in the building.Review from Apartments.com
1 bedroom facing the intersection
July 30, 2015Our favorite thing about this apartment is the space and the neighbors. Everyone is friendly but keeps to themselves. We are lucky to be on a floor consisting of elderly down to earth quiet couples. The apartment is spacious and even contains a foyer space and the living room is so big that we easily fit a 9 foot tree every Christmas. Unfortunately theres almost no lighting because the window is awkwardly placed. The ceilings are high and the floors are hardwood although they creak and could use ...some re-polishing. The bathroom is the worst because it's tiled with bright yellow and black tiles that are hard neutralize towards a modern or contemporary decor. Has a window but no fan system. The kitchen is nice but contains a stove and fridge that are at least 20 years old. No dishwasher either. There's also a nice breakfast nook near the window and the floors are real tile. Bedroom is great because it's big and on the other side of the apartment from the living room with the kitchen and bathroom in between so any sleepover guests won't feel like they are intruding. It gets the most sunlight but you will want to invest in something with white noise to drown out the sirens and traffic from the intersection. Some more details: The doors don't close because of too many layers of paint and in the winter, they heat the entire building up like a furnace so we keep our ac in all year. Plenty of storage, we have a bedroom closet, two linen closets. And a closet near the entrance that we store almost everything in. The neighborhood is safe, there's always joggers and people walking their dogs past midnight. Also very clean streets. Yes it's Bay-ridge so parking is a nightmare but bearable around 5-6 when people employed at the dentist offices are ending their shifts. The super and his family are incredibly nice and prompt in addressing issues. The basement has brand new washing and drying machines that they installed this past year. Elevator is not modern but perfectly safe, never got stuck as far as we heard and experienced since we moved here. Also they updated the pulley system. We did have a few packages taken earlier this year from the mailboxes. Each floor contains a closet-like room with a garbage chute and bins for recycling. No window washing so you have to do it yourself. We are at one of the highest elevation points so you can see the water and great sunsets from the fire escapes.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
