Love It!
September 25, 2015I love this place! Where to begin... Well, the landlord. Eric is one of the - no. Eric is THE best landlord I have ever had. Not only is he an awesome individual, he takes care of this place like its his baby. It's an older, Spanish-style building built in 1929 and he's currently in the process of restoring some aspects. If there's ever an issue, he's been there the next day to solve it. The building itself is really pretty, too. It's a U-shaped, yellow building with a red tiled roof. In the ...middle of the U are a bunch of trees and bushes lining the walkway. It truly gives you a Mediterranean or -surprise- Spanish vibe. Tiled stairs and large mirrors greet you inside, while steps go both up and down and halls reach either direction. Our apartment isn't huge, but it's awesome. A large kitchen with plenty of cabinet and sink space, with a newish fridge and a large stove. We even have a little 'catio' for the cats to have a safe, outdoor space to hangout. There are large windows in the living room, as well as a little built in arch in the hallway. There are large closets in every room, too. Oh - the FLOORS. They're hardwood, original (I think) and very well maintained. There are a few downsides, but they don't dampen how great this place is at all. First, because the walls are concrete (which means the apartment is very quiet!) - you do need to keep a dehumidifier going almost constantly. Eric provided us with one though. This also means you can't really hang things up too easily, though Ace stick on hooks and double sided tape have become my friends. Secondly, the laundry situation could be better. While the machines are very well maintained and there's a large clothesline area, there is only one of each machine and they cost $2 each (so, $4 per load). We air dry most of our towels and blankets now, but it's still $8 or so a week, just for laundry. Anyway - I love this place and I *definitely* recommend it!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
