The worst apartment to EVER stay at
September 17, 2024Very bad cricket problem. Pest control comes faster than maintenance. Notified them of the several openings we have in our walls and for this to be sealed to control the source of the problem. No update concerning this matter. Left several calls and requests to management, even visited in person and placed a work order almost 3-4 weeks ago, considering an appliance has not been working, always giving a run-around or excuse and says its not "urgent." Very disappointed, especially considering its ...my first stay here, I would urge anyone looking for an apartment to look elsewhere.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
TERRIBLE APARTMENT COMPLEX
August 19, 2024If I could give zero stars, I would. I recently showed up to move into Ballpark North on August 17, 2024, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. I paid $200 for the privilege of moving in early, expecting the apartment to be in the condition promised. However, upon arrival, I found that the unit looked nothing like the model I was shown during the tour. This was particularly frustrating, as I was assured that aside from the bathroom having only one sink, the unit would be ...“approximately” the same as the model. Unfortunately, it was not. The unit was not clean. There was visible dust, spider webs, and dirt everywhere, which is particularly concerning as I have pets that cannot live in such an environment. Additionally, the apartment had a strong odor of marijuana, further adding to the unpleasantness. Despite assurances from the leasing manager, Benita, that the apartment would be ready for move-in, it was far from it. Then I was told that the cleaning could be completed in 30 minutes (not believable), yet the unit remained in a substandard state even after this time. To compound the issue, the management is now attempting to charge me a reletting fee to terminate my lease, despite the fact that the unit was not provided in a habitable condition as outlined in the lease agreement. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Ballpark North to prospective tenants. The management’s lack of professionalism, failure to deliver on their commitments, and how they go about solving problems make this property an unsuitable living environment.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
I will not be able to peacefully live here, remembering wiping maggots out of my freezer.
August 24, 2020I have left the same comment on another site, but need to make sure others see it as well because of how horrible my experience was: I left my studio apartment over the summer because of the COVID-19 pandemic and was told I could not break my lease, so I continued to pay every month I was gone, all payments payed on time. I came back for this semester to find that my power was off for what seemed like a couple months- I know this because the food that was in the freezer was completely rotten and ...there were flies covering the floor of the apartment. I had a tub of ice cream and frozen fruit in the freezer that spilled out into the bottom of it, it turned into sludge and when I opened the freezer door, flies flew out. Maggots were caked onto the top of the freezer. When I had arrived, the front office had just closed so I had to call the emergency line who had maintenance come check it out- the guy couldn’t figure out how to turn the power back on and said the issues weren’t his fault. I have since gotten into contact with SimpleBills, the service that is in charge of the electricity bill, and they told me they DO NOT cut the power off, even when no one is living in the apartment, they told me Ballpark pays the electricity when no one is there. This is only one of the many horrible experiences I have had at this place and now I have to continue paying another year since I can’t break the lease I re-signed - which I did only because I need a place to stay for school and knew with the pandemic it would be a hassle to move. I will not be able to peacefully live here, remembering wiping maggots out of my freezer. Terrible experiences at this excuse for an apartment and the management does not care at all. Do yourself a favor and save money with another place.Property Manager Responded
September 5, 2020Katelyn, I am sad to see that you are posting multiple reviews after we have met with you and done everything we can to accommodate you. As I previously explained, we were not responsible for turning off the power (which was only out for a couple weeks, not months) and unfortunately the electric company was unable to explain why this occurred. As soon as we were informed of the issue, we contacted the electric company to have the power cut back on that day. We gave you a gift card to cover the cost of any spoiled food and ordered a new fridge for you because we completely understand why you would no longer want to keep the current one, even after it was cleaned. I am also concerned that you say we do not care at all when we have done everything in our power to remedy the situation. I am sad that all of efforts have gone unappreciated. Please let us know if there is something else we can do.

Still better than west campus
June 24, 2020I'm a graduating UT student who has lived at Ballpark for three years. It's not "luxury" by any means but it is a fair price for what you get. It's great for students because it comes fully furnished and you have access to two bus lines to UT that are better than the 670 that UE/UV have to share. I will say that there can be a large discrepancies unit to unit on conditions. If you can, request an apt near the entrance of the complex because those have been the most recently renovated. Maintenance ...will fulfill requests but they have a system of prioritizing requests. So if your toilet breaks or AC goes out, maintenance (who lives onsite!) will be there ASAP-same day! If it's a lighting issue or something that can wait, you will definitely experience a delay. The worst park about living at Ballpark has been the mailboxes. In the past year, they have been broken into twice and we have to drive to the post office to receive our mail. It's a pain, and the worst part of living here. All in all, I would recommend Ballpark to any UT student looking to save some coins. There is a commute but you get used to it quickly, the price is better than anything in wampus, and you get more space.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Biggest regret in moving to Austin
September 6, 2017Missing furniture, dirty pet urine and hair carpet, running toilet, leaking bathroom sink 2 weeks after move in. Work orders, e-mails, office visits all disregarded.Review from Apartments.com
HORRIBLE STAFF!!!! If you like having to dish out hundreds of dollars due to their incompetence, stay here!
August 31, 2016If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I'm one of those people that is super easy-going, and it would really take a lot for me to write a negative review. But I have been pushed to my limit! I am not someone who is easily upset, but the Ballpark has truly pushed me here. My apartment, a studio efficiency, was awesome. Nice, clean, little apartment for one girl. The complex itself was good, and the maintenance people were always nice and very prompt. HOWEVER, THE ...LEASING STAFF is HORRIBLE. They literally have NO IDEA what they are doing. NONE. After numerous incidents with them, I bring this to the attention of management, who assures me they're "working on training their staff". Yeah right. After 12 months of living there, the situation is the same. Due to their INCOMPETENCE I have had to go out of my way many times to not get charged for ridiculous amounts. Here goes: 1. Paid my pet deposit in August. Made the leasing agent make a copy of my check and sign it. In November I get a notice on my door telling me that I'm going to get fined if I don't pay my pet deposit. I show them my proof of payment. A copy of that is made AGAIN. It's been 12 months and I just found out that they have "no proof" of that payment being made on my ledger. 2. I left my apartment early due to graduation, and I gave full prior notice about that, and also asked the staff if I could cancel my utilities account since the apartment would be empty. I would still be paying the monthly rent. They said yes. Months later, I get a letter with over $200 in fees for "unpaid" utility bills. These are only a FEW of my negative experiences with the Ballpark. I would list more but there's a character limit. I have fought against every single one of these situations, and thankfully have not paid a penny that I shouldn't have had to. But, these issues are just ridiculous. It's taken so much out of me to just move out peacefully and move on with my life. The complex is nice, I always give credit where credit is due. I work very hard for my rent money, and it just doesn't seem fair to me that a couple of leasing agents not doing their job has almost cost me hundreds of dollars. I have yet to receive my deposit back, so that is yet another fight I am currently embarking on them.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Do not trust management
September 23, 2016Ballpark had potential to be a great place for students to live. But the management ruined all that. Don't be fooled by the high rating, it's at most it deserves a 1. The front office lies, the contracts lie, nothing is ever done in a timely manner. Moving in you will find furniture and appliances broken and cracked, and no one will fix it for you. Broken closet doors, rusty sinks, roaches, and severe lack of parking galore. Any time you go to the office with an issue they will respond back with ...excuses and make you feel unvalued and hurt. Welcome to ballpark...Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
BallPark
August 10, 2015Overall the location of the BALLPARK is great! It's a short walk to the Dollar Store and Lady Bird Lake. It's also about a 5min drive downtown Austin if the nightlife interest you. Austin Comminitu College is also a 5 min drive or less depending on traffic. There are down falls about where it's located. Riverside is consider the bad part of South Austin but not the worse. My roommate got robbed by gun point outside the complex at night. I wouldn't consider running or walking at night for your ...safety!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

When is it considered a Mound?
July 21, 2015When I first moved into the ballpark apartments, my sink wouldn't work. Not a big problem, and fairly easily fixed. Then, our front porch door's handle broke. Again, not a huge problem, though it still hasn't been fixed. Over time, a series of small incidents (spiders, ants, loud neighbors, and finally, a broken gate) have made my stay here unpleasant. With that said, they're good apartments. It's not super far from the campus, with a bus route close. Good for students.Review from Apartments.com
