Some of the most valuable resources in the center include programs and classes that offer new insight into the Mexican-American culture. However, the Mexican American Cultural Center also features resources for visitors and students to gain an appreciation and understanding of Native American and Latino cultures. The center focuses on the arts. Activities include theater, dance and music. This community embraces the visual arts and literature as well. Visitors can also enjoy multimedia experiences and the culinary arts. Classes are ongoing and everyone is welcome to register. The notion of creating a venue that celebrates Hispanic and Native American cultures transpired in the early 1970's. The Mexican American Cultural Center did not open its doors until September of 2007. This sight has brought much to the community in such a short time.
