September 18, 2018The apartment complex is certainly old and has it's occasional mishaps such as broken laundry machines or clogged pipes, but is a great place to live if you don't mind simple, humble surroundings. I really enjoyed my stay here. I've been at the Chateau for 8 months (moved to CLT for my job and am leaving for the same reason) and I love my apartment here. The 1BR I have is very spacious, has a large walk in closet! Nice wood floors in the living area. Clean but out of date bathroom and kitchen. No ...microwave. The carpet in the bedroom is clean and new. I like the neighborhood - you're close to lots of restaurants, and 10 min from NODA/Uptown. The neighbors here are nice and I (as a single woman) never felt unsafe. Cute courtyard/outdoor space. Free parking but it's 1st come 1st serve and a little awkward too but has spacious spots. Central Air/Heat is great. Maintenance is usually very quick to arrive/help you out. Diana is great at responding to tenants. There are quite a few stray cats that like to hang around here so if you have an issue with that you may not want to be here, but I will say that they usually keep to themselves and hide from humans, and they serve as good rodent control. Again, the interior really isn't all too stylish (popcorn ceilings / older finishes) but I didn't mind that. The laundry room is tiny but usually not full. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers and I am still usually able to get my things in on the 1st try. I think this is a great place to be if you are looking for an inexpensive, close to the action, cute place to be. I will say that my biggest pet peeve was the fumigation - which happened about every 6 weeks. I never had a bug problem in my place but I'm sure my neighbors did because ONLY AFTER fumigation would I see One nasty critter in or near my place. I will say that the frequent fumigation may have also been due to the summer season rather than the condition of my neighbor's homes. Quiet, nice - family area. I enjoyed my stay here and would continue to live here if my job wasn't moving me.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
