  • Stinky carpet, cheap fixtures

    June 9, 2016
I moved into a 1 Br/B with my girlfriend 4 months ago and managed to stay 2 months before finding something better. The carpet when we moved in was heavily scented with shampoo cleaner which was kinda gross to me and terrible to my girlfriend due to allergies. Within 3 weeks the 'fresh' scent had worn away to be replaced by something darker, danker, full of animal residue probably cats. So at week 3, we were looking for a exit. The landlords were responsive to our numerous repair requests ...
when we moved in but seemed less friendly after we asked for little things to be fixed, like the outside porch light which was on all night and you aren't allowed to hang more curtains so it was bright. Other negatives include incredibly cheap faucet fixtures which only came on at Niagara falls flow or not at all. The upstairs neighbor had a pet which was very nocturnal and prone to running around at night which sounded like rapid drum beats through the paper thin floor. We asked them if there was anything that could be done but they just apologized. When we moved out, we were hit with a $110 carpet shampooing bill which is outrageous because you can't clean the funk out of those carpets, you can just smother it with fake smells to trick the next renter. That was the last straw and thus the review. I will say that I liked being in South Eugene near the parks but not enough to put up with this piece. I would suggest looking elsewhere.

  • Wonderful Location!

    August 9, 2015
We love our apartment in South Eugene! It has a peaceful setting and lush little courtyards with old apple trees tucked between the units with views of Spencer's Butte. In the summer months they open the pool, which is fantastic with the heat we've had the past few years. The property managers keep the grounds beautiful and are always helpful and courteous. We are just a short distance from great food, shopping, grocery stores and the Amazon bike path. It's affordable, comfortable living in South ...

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on scale of 1 (below average) and to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider needs as part of the school selection process.
