  • here for 10 years

management maintains the building very nice, tenants are friendly and a quiet place to live overall, building is clean, well kept. the onsite manager strickly enforces the rules and its on his game but he does a good job maintaining old building well kept and clean.

  • Rodent land

    July 17, 2019
Do not rent here, the rent keeps going up with no rodent solution in site. I keep a clean household and I still will see mice run across my stove. The laundry room is always broken and the place has an odor.

  • Beautiful building, terrible maintenance.

    May 4, 2017
The building is beautiful and old. It is not well maintained. And if you complain about it on any rating websites, the super prints out your complaint and posts it publicly with messages saying you should move out and other mean messages - which he has done on numerous occasions.

  • Super of building is a Jerk!

    March 13, 2017
This guy breaks all the rules. He has his friends and family park at emergency exit areas of the building where is clearly indicates do not block. He also watches everyone from the cameras as well as in the parking area, so if you leave your parking spot in which you pay for monthly $90.00, he tells his friends to park in your spot while you are not there! He has a parking arrangement with a few people in the building in which upper management knows nothing about. A few of the tenants park in ...
different spaces in the back while us hard working people pay for a spot monthly. He used to have a cat and dog locked up in the basement illegally but once he got caught by management he decided to put the animals in vacant apartments and they are frequently moved from empty apartment to the next. This guy Nelson is very rude does nothing for the building. if you have a concern he pretends to take care of it and sometimes doesn't get back to you for days. Its really because he leaves on little trips to the Dominican Republic. He basically thinks he owns the building. Nelson also tends to hit on the female teanants, this guy has no boundries. I really hope upper mamanagement replaces him. Hes bad news...

  • My unit is a one bedroom.

    August 14, 2015
I've been a tenant since 2004. The rooms are large. the halls are quiet, the neighbors aren't nosey. There is off street, sheltered parking for a monthly fee.

  • Good Apartment, Bad Building

    August 14, 2015
The apartment itself is nice (good layout, high ceilings, wood floors), but the building is not. No one picks up after their dogs in the backyard. The parking area in the back is poorly laid out and there are stray cats everywhere. The building is obviously old, which isn't a problem in and of itself, but it is poorly maintained. Up until recently, the hallways were never cleaned. The basement, which is where the laundry room and back entrance are, features lots of exposed wiring. The ...
problems make moving to this building a bad idea.

  • Character, at a Price

    August 12, 2015
If you're like me, you're looking at Franklin Towers and thinking to yourself, "Okay, it's an old building and it has some crummy reviews online. But the apartments have so much character, and the rent is so low! I can deal with the crummy parts in exchange for low rent." But you shouldn't. Yes, the rent is very reasonable. But keep in mind that the only included utility is water. You have to pay for your own heat, which comes from wildly ineffective electric baseboard heaters. Upon moving ...
in during the winter, we found that the one heater provided for our living space - when left running at full blast 24/7 - couldn't keep our apartment heated over 58 degrees. After a month of complaints to both the super and the building owners (and wearing our winter coats inside!), a second heater was installed. The temperature was bearable, but our electric bill for that last month of winter was not - it was nearly $400! Add that to the additional expenses (other utilities, the garage fee if you want to park your car, the pet fee charged for every one of your fur babies), and Franklin Towers is not the bargain it appears to be. The other little things that make moving here an experience that really isn't worth it: - There is one very old elevator that will be of very little help when you move in or out. - The driveway is one-car wide, but is used for two way traffic and exits onto a busy street. Not a safe situation. - The laundry facilities consist of five washers and dryers in a very un-pretty basement setting. - Often, the doors to outside don't lock. - People are permitted to walk their dogs in the "backyard" (vacant lot), and most people see no need to pick up after them. - Last winter, plows didn't come until roughly 9 AM to clear out snow from the parking area. Not a good situation if you are a human being who has a job with regular hours. - Bugs. We had a fly infestation at the beginning of the summer and currently are being visited by what may or may not be baby roaches. - The hallways have been disgusting, historically speaking. Like... they weren't cleaned once in the first nine months that we lived here. (In fairness, there is a new super who has had the hallways cleaned every week since he started. Let's just hope it stays that way!) These may all seem like small complaints, but when you're living with them, they add up. Please think twice before moving in.

  • My review visit

    October 30, 2014
Hi, After visiting the property I thought to write a review of my observation. I think it is well maintained and you get what you pay for. As we all know you won't control over who your neighbor will be. Overall, I liked it.

  • Franklin Towers is a welcoming place!

    February 24, 2013
My boyfriend and I were looking for an apartment and checked out Franklin towers first. The manager Alex was very nice and helpful, told us the history of the apartment complex. It used to be a hotel and we liked that aspect of its history. He showed us three types of apartments and let us see the laundry room. He was overall a helpful and kind person. The apartments he showed were mostly all renovated and for a good price. The apartments were close to everything we needed, whether it be a ...
supermarket, a bank, or the parkway so family can visit us. All these aspects make us want to move in as soon as possible!!

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on scale of 1 (below average) and to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider needs as part of the school selection process.
