dirty place. worst Management
July 3, 2024I wish I can give 0.0 stars ! Although I always paid on time, Management tried to charge for late fees that never happened. When I tried to discuss the issue, they never answered my calls. Took me several weeks and multiple emails to solve the situation. Rented for two years and management never took care of the building. Hallways and stairs were covered with dirt and mold. At the end of the contract, they charged $50.00 for cleaning even when the inspector said it was perfectly cleaned by us.Review from Apartments.com
Inconsistent Management
July 3, 2023I lived comfortably at this apartment for five years and enjoyed the many amenities that they offered such as a pool, a campus shuttle, and a highly equipped gym. The rent was relatively cheap compared to other places in town, and with all these amenities, it seemed like an ideal place to live. However, over time I noticed inconsistencies with the maintenance of the gym machines, the pool, and the internet. They ended the shuttle service soon after the pandemic, machines are often broken or ...jammed, and because of a storm, I have been without wifi for three days, and there doesn't seem to be a resolution coming anytime soon. The pool hasn't opened until July the past two years due to poor maintenance (the pool was green at one point), and this year they are "waiting for a part from a supplier." That email was sent a month ago, and the pool still isn't open. They also deduct money from your deposit if you choose to let them clean your carpets once you move out. My suggestion is to consider a smaller apartment complex that may offer better amenities, maintenance, and a more professional staff. The apartment looks clean and well kept from the outside, but don't be deceived by what you see. They let the amenities fall by the waist side.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Would give 0 stars if I could
April 21, 2021First of all don’t trust the star ratings on the main page. Notice how most of the reviews are 1-star but somehow the app still rates this place as 4.5 stars! Not a chance! Now on to my review... I finished my lease last summer. The apartment was left in the exact same condition it was found (including the carpet). After move out, the apartment management explained that the carpet hasn’t been replaced in 5 years, and even though the company actually replaces carpets on a 5-year schedule ...routinely, they inform me that I will be responsible for the cost to replace the carpet. So far this is “par for the course”. Everyone knows how sketchy apartment management companies can be when it comes to refunding deposits. No surprise there. The next part is where it gets interesting. Knowing that the facts of the story are on my side, I hired an attorney, notified the apartment of my decision, and the had the apartment manager served with a cease and desist letter regarding the alleged “past-due account” from the carpet charge. In retaliation, the apartment manager expedited the account to a collection agency and refused to communicate with the attorney. Once the account was on record with the collection agency and subsequently reported to the credit bureaus, I then had no choice but to file a lawsuit to have the matter dismissed. Now I decide it would have been far cheaper just to pay for the darn carpet fee (evidently it’s very cheap carpet - no surprise there) than to file a lawsuit and fight it out in court. The problem is that the account has already been (fraudulently) reported to the credit bureaus as a bad debt. So even if I pay (whether I settle or pay in full), it still results in tainting my credit report for 7 years. So far there has been no indication that the apartment manager and/or collection agency will agree to a deletion of the collections account if the account is paid in full (and at this point, the deletion of the collections account is the only outcome that is acceptable). And I wonder just how many international students in Bloomington have been treated this way... is it hundreds? maybe thousands? Maybe a news story needs to be published about these bullies. Or maybe a class action law suit needs to be filed. Millennium - if you’re reading this (and I hope you are) - you should know that you’re not fooling anybody. This is illegal exploitation. And you should be held accountable.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HORRID PLACE!
April 21, 2021Rude management, exploitative to renters and will charge you exorbitantly when you move out. Horrible people bad experience with them.Review from Apartments.com
LIVE ELSEWHERE
November 5, 2018I've lived here for 3-1/2 years and this complex has only gone down hill. Save your money and live elsewhere. Since the management change, the staff is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and unhelpful. There is inadequate parking requiring you to walk 0.42 miles to park legally. My kitchen has flooded twice. There are major spider, ant, and mold issues. As well as people not cleaning up after their pet waste. This is the absolute worst apartment experience ever. There are MUCH nicer, more affordable, ...and friendlier places to reside in Bloomington. It is not worth the amenities.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Buyer Beware
October 18, 2017Buildings are cheaply made and you will pay extremely high electric bills. We paid nearly $300 for one month during the winter due to the amount of air that comes in through the windows and doors. Too many residents trash the property and refuse to pick up after their dog even though bags are easily accessible around the property. Your car will get several new dings and scratches because residents blatantly double park. Management will do nothing about neighbors that are continuously noisy and ...dealing/smoking drugs. We had multiple mold issues. If you need something repaired in your apartment, the vacant apartments will take precedent over yours. We had to wait a month to get our dishwasher fixed and a month to get our cable fixed. The amenities are nice if you use them and if they work, but overall our experience at Millennium was nowhere near what we paid to live there each month. Don't be fooled!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
May 9, 2017This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in terms of management. They are shoddy at everything they do, and they will not work with you one bit. If you live here prepare to wait 3 days on every maintenance request, be nickel and dimed at every turn, and have information hidden from you. The apartments themselves are ok, cheaply built but it makes sense because they're cheap. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else, you will not regret it.Review from Apartments.com
RIP OFF ARTISTS-this is the parent of a renter who lost 100% of the deposit for NO REASON!
February 9, 2017DO NOT RENT HERE!! Moved out and they ROBBED us of ENTIRE deposit despite it being spotless! Charged 17.00 for LIGHT BULBS, 166 for PAINTING and on and on. They are RIPOFF artists. They didn't bother to even deal with the broken blinds, missing dishwasher pieces when we moved in. They basically use student deposits for general maintenance and upkeep. RIP OFF!! We called a lawyer today. Don't let them screw with any more students. Get free legal through IU legal program and get this place to ...REFUND the deposits! Daughter rented from spring 2015 through winter 2017. They should be sued by a large group of students!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Lowest quality of customer relationship and random warning letters are what you get at Millennium
December 29, 2016I lived at Fountain Park Apartments for over 2 years, and even though the rent there is quite less, they provide way better customer relationship management than Millennium Apartments. Millennium has gifted me by far the WORST experience I have had with a leasing company in Bloomington. The management seems to excel in providing the lowest quality of service possible while taking every possible opportunity to extort money from the residents when they can. - I went without cable for 3 months ...because their internal communication is worse than a game of Telephone. After over 7 visits and multiple emails to the manager of the property, all they had to do was connect a wire in one of the external cable boxes to resolve the issue. It took them 3 months! - If you decide to live here, expect to find random unsolicited papers hanging outside of your door to warn you for things you don't even do. In some cases, they will also ask you to replace things in the house which they should have taken care of by themselves. - When I signed the lease, I didn't know that the higher price they are charging for the rent includes continuous lack of empathy towards their residents! I am quite disappointed with this leasing company and will advise people to not rent here unless they are renting the apartments out for free. Maybe even then, use caution.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Awful Management, not worth the cheaper price or good amenities
October 27, 2016On the day we were supposes to move in, I arrived with my family, sans my wife, and a rental truck to unload and unpack. I arrived at 10am and needed to be at work at 4pm; however, when I arrived my unit wasn’t ready. I was told by the property manager at that time (Jared?) that I wasn’t supposed to arrive until the next day. When I showed him the paper with my arrival time and date, he insisted that this was a miscommunication on both ends and not just their fault. It was definitely ONLY their ...fault. He asked if we could wait three hours for the unit to be ready, but the truck was due by that time, my family came to help, and I had to work. I gave myself ample time to get all of the move in done, but not enough to have to sit and wait, and make my help sit and wait, for three hours. He said that my only option was to except the unit as is. He insisted that I would not be charged for any of the current damage or imperfections of the unit At some point Millennium Properties was sold, and became Hunter Bloomington Properties, and my wife and I were ecstatic. Finally, things would be better because the issue had always been management related. One night over the summer we woke up to our apartment wet and water dripping down our walls. I called the overnight emergency maintenance line and someone was on the way. When he arrived, very nice guy, he told us that the problem happened because our upstairs neighbors were using their AC, and that it would be taken care of. The same issue happened three more times, and I was assured every time that I would not be charged for any of the damage. In the beginning of September, I received my closing statement; where, minus carpet cleaning, I expected to get two hundred and fifty of the four hundred dollar deposit. Instead, I received a statement and bill for two hundred and forty nine dollars and forty two cents. I was shocked. My apartment was spotless when we left. We moved out a month early, so we went back on multiple occasions to make sure that it stayed clean. When I looked through the statement, I found that I was charged for carpet replacement which wasn’t in awful condition when we left actually. Any damage that was present; however, was caused completely by the previous tenants, and remember I was told I wouldn’t be charged when I accepted the unit as is. I was charged for a ton of painting, most likely due to a combination of the previous tenants and the water damage; I was told I wouldn’t be charged for.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Deceptive and Frustrating
October 12, 2016Your experience at Millennium (and Bloom) Apartments may be different from mine, but I will not be recommending anyone to those apartment complexes. The quick summary of why you shouldn’t be moving there: hidden costs of $500 , occasionally some rude and inept office staff (though, thankfully, not always), inconsiderate neighbors, and poor quality of the apartments which are covered by a shiny, cheap façade.Review from Apartments.com
Nice apartments, management is a bit deceptive
May 5, 2016The complex is nice and the amenities are great. They've done a lot to speed up the internet. Basic cable is included but you'll probably want to upgrade with HD which costs more. Problems I've had: 1. If your kitchen sink gets stopped up at 5 pm on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Eve happens to fall on a Thursday... your sink will stay clogged and backed up with nasty water for 4 or 5 days because they will not dispatch anybody to fix it - it isn't an "emergency" that justifies a weekend or ...evening maintenance call. 2. If they promise you a credit or refund for some kind of difficulty you had based on a mistake they made... you won't get it. Also, they don't really offer discounts for renewing or paying in advance. 3. If they sell you on the idea that your end date is flexible, and if you need a few days to arrange your affairs before leaving Bloomington, this is just a flat out lie. They will rent your apartment out as soon as they can will not accomodate you at all. All in all, a really nice place that they've put a lot of time and money into making good, but their treatment of customers is pretty inflexible and there really isn't anything a customer can do to fix it.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
