DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
February 13, 2025I've been living here since June. My unit is nice (albeit probably a little overpriced) so everything is fine when there are no issues. But AS SOON AS you have the smallest maintenance need or issue, good luck - management is impossible to contact, extremely slow to resolve even emergency issues, and always has the excuses as to why things aren't being handled. It has been an INFURIATING experience, and I'm extremely low-key and patient. Don't waste your hard-earned money unless you want ...headaches!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Do not move here
August 11, 2024The worst experience I've ever had! My unit had a laundry list of issues, clearly it was not inspected before it was leased and maintenence doesn't respond.Review from Apartments.com
Horrible
May 4, 2023I had the worse experience living here at RIVERSTONE apartments! Would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is rude, the place is horrible.Review from Apartments.com
Thinking about moving here... think again!
September 17, 2021I've lived in several apartment complexes over the years but my experience at Riverstone was by far the worst! The issues started before I even moved in. I was excited, my lease was signed, deliveries were scheduled and preparations were made ahead of time - 2 days before I was scheduled to move in I contacted them with a few questions and was then told that they had to move my move-in date due to a delinquent tenant. Obviously, a tenant refusing to vacate is not their fault and I'm an ...understanding person and always for the people - so being that we were in a pandemic and all that was going on I don't fault the tenant but complex never reached out to let me know what was happening, the only reason I found out that they were moving my date was because I reached out about a totally different reason. So of course, I pressed the issue and told them how unprofessionally they were handling the situation and they gave me no solutions or alternate courses of action, I had to call the rental company several trying to get in touch with someone that could help, staff was not returning my calls after I was told they would follow up - I had to keep reaching out just to get things resolved. Next, I finally get in the apartment and it is a complete mess - dirty, dingy yellow appliances, thing broken, it was filthy. I had to call the rental property again, to get a cleaning crew in there and maintenance to come and fix things. By this time I was exhausted going back and forth with them. I lived on the 4th floor and they have no elevators or guidance/tools etc. to making moving in and out easier for tenants. The gates are always broken. When it snows, they take no proactive measures to keep the property from icing over; cars were stuck in spots due to accumulated snow/ice and people were slipping days after the snow was over - every single time it snowed. There are a few helpful people in the office (Aleya being one of them - I think that's her name) and on maintenance but overall this is the most unprofessional, incompetent and low effort rental property I've ever dealt with. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
THE PHOTOS ARE DECEIVING
July 13, 2020DO NOT MOVE HERE. Moved in late 2019 and will not be renewing our lease. We were very impressed with the grounds and amenities at the time. However, upon move-in, clearly no one bothered to inspect our unit. The carpet was matted and dirty to the point where we still have to empty our vacuum after every use (we vacuum twice a week). We found several clear thumbtacks scattered throughout the apartment which also indicates no one cleaned the carpet prior to move-in. We had a company come in and ...professionally clean the carpet, which didn't help at all. The dishwasher was covered in black mold and the spinner was broken. It took two months and a lot of pleading with management to replace our dishwasher. We were never told at signing there was a garage with our unit, but we ended up getting one which was a nice surprise; however, the garage was filled with trash and debris. There was also a large whole, the size of a child, in our wall. We were extremely disappointed that a community where we were so excited about moving into started out very stressful and frustrating. However, things only got worse the longer we live here. The gates were a nice bonus; however, the gates break EVERY week. Sometimes we cannot exit or enter the community which is extremely frustrating. There is also a huge problem with people leaving trash bags every where, which doesn't help with animals getting into it. There is a dumpster area with about five dumpsters that go untouched for weeks. Residents and maintenance dump large and broken pieces of furniture, mattresses, and the like were it is in plain view of residents' balconies. The walls are paper thin. With doors closed, you can easily hear people talking as if they are standing outside of your door shouting. Whenever someone leaves our floor, the door to our apartment shakes, terrifying our dogs. Our AC unit didn't work when we got to the warmer months. It took almost a month and three visits by the company to come out and fix and replace the unit twice. Management is okay depending on who you are dealing with. The more problems we had, it seemed like we were a burden to them. Other tenants are also very unhappy and are planning on not renewing. Overall, if you're thinking about moving here, I would suggest looking at apartments around the corner that are cheaper, kept clean, and have more amenities than this community.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
I Do Not Recommend Riverstone at Owings Mills Apartments
December 30, 2018Pros: 95% Quiet complex, decent apartment, close to 795, good maintenance staff Cons: Lack of parking spaces when returning home late; terrible customer service from the leasing manager and staff; rent increases over $100 per month for renewal; gates are always broken; light sleepers may be bothered by loud noises from the garbage machine every morning; flooding appears to be a recurring issue in some apartments so beware; I've usually rented apartments at this price point or higher, and the ...customer service is usually excellent. But unfortunately I cannot recommend these apartments simply because of my horrible experience with the leasing manager, and some leasing staff also. This new management staff has the worst customer service I've ever, ever experienced as a renter. So much so that I just try to avoid dealing with them as much as possible. Quite disappointed about this, but unfortunately what can you do after signing the lease. I do not recommend.Property Manager Responded

Riverstone Apartments Rent
August 3, 2017When we first found Riverstone Apartments we fell in love with the community. Everything was great. Before we singed our lease, we inquired about the yearly rental increase and was told that the increase would only be about $20. After the first year of us living at Riverstone, we received a notice on our door that our rent was increasing $100 a month ($1,200 more a year than we paid our first year) and that we had 30 days to notify them if we would be staying or submitting our notice. Despite the ...drastic increase, we loved our apartment so much that we decided to pay the increase in rent. After two years of living in the community, we received another notice on our door that our rent will be increasing a little over $100 a month (about $2,400 more a year than we paid our first year) and that we have until the end of the month to let the know if we are renewing our lease or submitting our notification. We love our apartment but the drastic rent increase is not worth it. As resident I do not feel valued. We are not crazy, disrespectful or rowdy tenants. We love and respect where we live but the drastic rent increase is making us feel like we are being forced out of our apartment. A friend of ours lives right around the corner at Groveton Green Apartments. They moved into their apartment (with the same amount of bedrooms as ours) right before we moved into ours and our rent was about the same. After the first year their rent drastically increased but they decided to renew their lease. A few weeks ago they received a notice to renew for their second year. Their notice stated that if they renewed by a certain date then their rent will only increase by $10 a month but if they waited and renewed by the second date on the letter then their rent will drastically increase a month. They loved their apartment as well and decided to quickly renew their lease (paying $10 more a month). Please think really hard and if you have already made up your mind please reconsider living at Riverstone Apartments. The rental increase is too extreme.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Riverstone Apts - Good Idea
July 30, 2015Been living here since October 2014 in a beautiful upgraded apartment (new kitchen and bathroom). Have had a few issues that were repaired immediately. Came home and there was major flooding from the apartment above. Once maintenance determined where it was coming from this (not the apartment above) they repaired the ceiling and then repainted the entire area within days of it happening. The development is clean and quiet. One negative is sometimes people will call your number in the hopes of ...you buzzing them into the gate or they follow cars in.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
